The food is of impecable quality and very delicious, the sushi rolls are done by an experienced cheff and I was pleasantly surprised by their size, which is greater than in most other restaurants we've been to. Overall the food quality, presentation, service and atmosphere is absolutely outstanding for when you want to relax and get away from the noises of the world, you have cozy lo-fi playing in the background to help you get into a comfortable headspace especially after a long day. This location is 10/10 a hidden gem in Klaipėda, ny partner and I will definititely be returning here 👍 When we were there last time we ordered 2 sets of sushi, 2 wok with spaghetti (1 with shrimp and 1 with chicken) alongside Choya Fruit Wine and some cocktails - everything was deliveres to us promptly, well presented and the service was outstanding, definitely made us feel at ease 😌 money is absolutely well spent and I highly recommend this establishment. They also update their working hours when you google search them, for instance by the entrance it said that they work until 21:00 but yesterday we were dined in until 22:00 as they have extended working hours during summer time. PS: When there is approximately 30min left until closing any incoming guests are informed that the only remaning option is to order take-out, so you're not left feeling rushed initially, very considerate. Honestly - I can't wait to go...
Read moreTo start with the positives, the service was quite efficient—there’s a QR code on each table for quick ordering and payment, and you can even leave a tip through the same system. We arrived when it was packed but managed to find a table at the back. The décor was definitely a highlight: the wall art fit the Samurai theme perfectly, adding to the overall atmosphere.
However, despite the decent service and nice ambiance, there were a few drawbacks. The seating area felt cramped, with extra chairs squeezed around that made it uncomfortable to navigate. The menu selection seemed fine, but some of the photos were very unappealing—enough to make me hesitate before ordering. Ultimately, we tried two ramen dishes and the tempura shrimps; all were truly delicious and well-prepared.
The biggest issue was the bar behind us, where a chef was actively cooking—odd placement to begin with. There was no proper ventilation, so the cooking fumes ended up clinging to our clothes and hair, leaving a strong oily smell. This really dampened the dining experience.
Overall, Samurai does have some redeeming qualities: tasty food, convenient service, and engaging décor. Yet the cramped setup and poor ventilation were hard to ignore. I’d give it 3 stars—worth a try for the food, but be prepared to leave smelling like...
Read moreVery loud drum and bass music coming from the kitchen really didnt fit to our client facing area but was very noticable always and especially when waitress went to take any orders from the kitchen so it was hard to feel what was originally oriental-themed experience. Maybe chef could use headphones.
Noodles were store bought and left in the broth for way too long for traditional ramen. Backbone umami wasnt existant in chicken ramen with also the chicken as a main ingredient being just boldly boiled tasteless chicken kind of a let down for 9eu dish.
Would highly suggest to improve the ramen options menu to have more differences for various tastes or if traditional taste is the main objective - use freshly made, not store-bought ingredients. Asparagus and baby corn shouldnt be the peak performing ingredients..
All in all decent place as there are not alot of japanese cuisine as of yet, but would highly suggest to improve because if any competitor in town would appear - place would fall...
