Following our first off-peak visit that we enjoyed immensely we decided to visit it again during peak hours, that did not go as well as our first visit. Service was less than perfect to say the least, we received our table water around half way through our meal although we requested for it to be served ASAP, our server seem to be all over the place and less than attentive to say the least, i assume because he was overstretched and as a resul we felt neglected, but worst of all he didnt even bother to advise us that BBQ chicken (saslykas) is served without any fries, rice or bread (that is a crime in itself) when he took our order and while he was as quick as he could be bringing fries (they are best fries i have ever eaten btw) we ended up eating chicken luke warm, our soup was also served luke warm and cheese balls (surio spurgos) was nowhere near as well made as the first time round, most likeley because kitchen was also overstretched. As a result i have downgraded our experience from 5 stars to 4 stars and i would advise to visit it off-peak time for...
Read moreMy review of “Vanduo” in Palanga: Since it’s autumn and most places in Palanga are closed, I ended up coming here a few times out of convenience – it’s right next to my place, breakfast starts earlier, and dinner is served later than in many other spots. Each time I gave it another chance, hoping it might get better. It never did.
Breakfast is acceptable, but everything else – from pizzas to desserts – is simply awful. The food is bland, poorly made, and absolutely not worth the price. Service is even worse: slow, indifferent, and careless. This afternoon, before leaving Palanga, I thought I’d give it one last try. I sat there for over 15 minutes completely ignored, and finally just walked out.
Yes, the place itself looks cozy and it attracts a crowd, but the reality is that both the food and service are shockingly bad. Honestly, I have no idea how this restaurant manages to keep a rating above 4 stars – it’s nowhere...
Read moreWe went after the usual lunch rush hour so it was moderately quiet and a lot of free spots. Usually in the summer evenings certain music events take place here so it can get crowded. Service from the staff seemed slightly unbothered and unprofessional - it would’ve been understandable if it was the rush hour. We ordered a snack, drinks, soup and different main dishes. The fried bread arrived lukewarm, so it was not the best start, drinks were good, but expensive (as it is usual for a good restaurant), fish soup was simple, yet delicious. When it comes to the main dishes - the prices are greatly increased for a simple well prepared meal. Good outlook on the main dishes - all of the produce seemed fresh (not frozen). Would recommend dining here on a...
