TL;DR: The mains were absolutely outstanding — worth every cent. However, skip the starters and desserts — underwhelming and overpriced. Total score: 8/10.
Place A cozy and charming spot located in a small but tidy courtyard next to the hotel of the same name. There’s seating both indoors and outdoors. The music and ambient noise were kept at a comfortable level, contributing to a relaxing and calm atmosphere.
Food We started the evening with oysters (€8 each) and a glass of Champagne — a classic combo that never disappoints. The oysters were fresh, large, and of excellent quality, just as you'd expect from a restaurant of this caliber.
For starters, we tried the Red Drum Ceviche (€24) and the Amberjack Tataki (€28). While the ingredients were top-notch and well-matched, the final execution lacked flair and a defining element. The dishes felt uninspired and didn’t showcase much creativity from the chef. Score: 7/10 (8 for quality, -1 for the price not matching the experience)
Mains: We had the Bluefin Tuna (€42) and the Turbot (€40). After the so-so starters, our expectations were tempered — but we were completely blown away. Both dishes were exceptional. The turbot was honestly one of the best fish dishes I’ve ever had, and the tuna paired with foie gras was otherworldly — melt-in-your-mouth perfection. Score: 10+/10
Desserts: I'm not big on desserts, but since the first two courses were a mixed bag, I gave them a try. We ordered the Tiramisu (€14) and the Three Chocolate (€14). Sadly, these followed the same pattern as the starters — disappointing. The tiramisu was watery and bland, and while the Three Chocolate tasted better, it was still far from impressive. At this price point, you’d expect much more. These felt more like something you'd get at a local diner at 1/3 of the price than a fine dining spot. Score: 7/10
Staff I'm usually not bothered by the staff as long as they are not rude and do their job, so it won't affect my scoring, but if you are a snob and expect a high class service, you might feel disappointed as a waiter was definitely not well experienced or trained, didn't know the menu and lacked...
