Definitely avoid staying here during wedding season, or at the very least, check well in advance whether any private events are scheduled during your visit before booking.||||We booked a one-night stay to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and ended up feeling like we had accidentally crashed someone else’s big day (the irony isn’t lost on me). Yes, we were notified via Booking.com about a “festive event” taking place at the restaurant that might involve loud music until 23:00. I remember thinking, “What a bummer,” because the on-site restaurant was one of the reasons we chose this hotel. But our plans couldn’t change—we had concert tickets that night—and the booking was non-refundable, so I figured we’d just make the most of everything else. Oh, how wrong I was…||||We arrived at 15:00 to check in, only to find the entire hotel in full-blown wedding prep mode. Tents going up, flower arrangements being set, sound equipment being hauled in—right by the entrance. We had no idea where to go. It already felt awkward, like we were intruding. While the receptionist was friendly, check-in felt rushed, and the overall vibe was that hotel guests were an afterthought compared to the wedding.||||Still, we tried to keep our spirits up and relax before heading out to the concert. I took out a book, my husband lay down for a quick nap. But it was hard to relax with all the noise from the hallways and downstairs—clanking dishes, loud conversations, and eventually, a full-blown sound check. Not exactly a quiet string quartet either… More like booming old-school Lithuanian pop songs coming straight through the closed door as if the band was performing in our room. My husband never managed to fall asleep. After about 30 minutes of this, we gave up and left the hotel.||||We returned just after midnight, fully expecting there was no point coming back any sooner. The music had stopped by then, and the last guests were heading out while the staff cleaned up. Judging by the moaning heard through walls, the wedding night should have been a success.||||Look, I’m bitter, but not at the staff or the happy couple (congratulations, for real—you picked a lovely date!). I’m frustrated with the management and business model that Vila Komoda seems to follow. It’s a small hotel, and an event as large and noisy as a wedding has a huge impact on other guests. I feel like I paid a premium price and didn’t get anywhere near the experience I expected. I didn’t even get to see the garden—there was a wedding photoshoot happening there—and every time we entered or left, we had to pass through either the chaos of preparations or the wedding itself.||||Honestly, either rent out the entire hotel for wedding parties or offer a substantial discount to unrelated guests staying during these events. And just as we were leaving, the next wedding setup had already begun. Good luck to anyone staying here during...
Read moreThe hotel itself, room and restaurant were really clean and nicely decorated, staff was polite and helpful, tasty breakfast with "secret" cinnamon roll that you have to order in advance, but if you're looking for a calm getaway then it's totally no go. Booked a room for 2 nights in October what was supposed to be calm season. I made an order at least 1 month ahead and asked for a crib for my 6month old baby, so it was obvious we weren't party animals. Few days before visiting I wrote an email just to comfirm if everything is all right and only when we checked in the hotel we were told there would be weddings in the restaurant the next day, but it should be over by 11pm. The time sounded reasonable and if it was just a dinner so it's totally ok. But it appeared to be wedding party with DJ, MC, drunk screaming guests that were constantly slamming restaurant door on their way to have a smoke. The administrator was really polite, but she wasn't able control guests and party would't end at 11pm. They turned off music by midnight, otherwise it would be over the law, but guests were still loud and we could hear them and could not sleep (nor me, nor my baby) though our room was on the second floor. Actually it was just under the roofterace and luckily the cocktail bar there didn't work, otherwise I can only immagine how loud it would be. In conclision: if you're not participating in the party (the roofterace is open all summer long...) then you should...
Read moreEsu gimusi Palangoje ir be jos neįsivaizduoju gyvenimo.
