I’ve booked a table for my 30th birthday with the hope of starting a festive day on a high note. I’ve informed the restaurant it’s going to be a special day for me. I was genuinely happy to choose Demo because I’ve heard a lot of great feedback.
We’ve arrived at 10am on Saturday morning and the place was empty but hey, it’s a weekend and of course we didn’t mind as the restaurant just opened. They hadn’t turned on music for quite a while and the atmosphere sitting in the empty restaurant alone in silence was quite weird.
We ordered our food around 10:10 and were waiting for it until 10:40 with no interaction whatsoever while other guests who came later already received their meals. We inquired our order and they told us it was going to take another 5 minutes. Then I expressed my dissatisfaction for starting a special day with such disappointment. Then they offered a complimentary drink which was a nice gesture but if they knew they had a problem with our order they should have told us about it earlier and should been more proactive or at least communicated properly, offered something to order while we were waiting for the main order to arrive.
We really felt like we were on our own and no one really cared about us even when they delivered orders for others who came later much sooner. They only started reacting and doing something about our orders after we complained multiple times.
We finally received our order at 11:00 which was almost 1 hour later after we ordered it. Considering the fact that the restaurant was half empty for the first 30 minutes I find it quite unacceptable. I think the service really ruined the whole experience. Our meals were great but there is a lot of room to improve the service. We’ve received a discount for our meals which was the least they could do. I did not expect anything special with regard to my birthday but at least a verbal congrats would have been nice from their side because that’s what true hospitality is. It’s little details, attention, and feeling cared for.
I hope this feedback will really help the restaurant to rethink the service and place greater importance for that. We will come back for a dinner as we heard excellent...

In Demoloftas the journey speaks deep, with flavours to convert even the critique. The venue represents the artist's impressions, The food is created to depict profound expressions.

It's the voyage put together for perfection, To experience unique with retrospection. It's the staff and their attention to detail, To make this evening one to prevail.
Demoloftas is one of the most unique experiences I have had. The whole evening was extremely special. From the moment of entering the vibrant and stunningly designed space, I felt that it is going to be something exceptional. The staff's attention to detail was throughout the night meticulous and I always felt cared for. Each dish was a burst of flavour complimented by the Chef's story, that takes one back to vivid memories of childhood. Knowing the source of the inspiration was half of the evening, it made it feel really special.
The dishes are prepared with deep thoughts, yet allowing to explore. It's not only about the food, but also about the cutlery and dishes. See how the Soviet time spoons enter the table to compliment the dessert "Kogel-Mogel" or the little spoon to allow your brain to enjoy the combination of Mushroom Ice cream with Rhubarb-Celery Jam. Other dishes, like Lake Bass + Mushroom Sauce or the Lithuanian "Pizza" leave you with craving for more! The aspect of allowing diners to play, to get messy is so enjoyable!
I recommend Demoloftas for a unique experience that rarely comes in life. It's worth every penny since this is not a place to simply dine! It's a place and evening to experience and embrace the beauty of life.
Thank you Demoloftas team and especially Tadas for the openness and stories! You all...
Read moreWant to start off that we chose "Farmer's table" not the "Author's tasting menu". We are quite foodies and we always put a little too high expectations for restaurants, however, for one that has a Michelin star... you kind of have to.
Here are our reasons why we are giving it a 3 star rating:
My partner told staff that she doesn't eat fish. (That was the main reason we didn't choose Author's tasting menu, as it was 80% fish). Despite that, 2 out of 5 entrees were with fish. Waiter didn't ask if my partner was allergic and didn't even try to substitute it with something else. With caviar our waiter literally said: "you can just push it on the side" What?!
The service didn't feel organic in any way. The waiters changes mid-through the dinner, even though the first one said "we will get to know each other this evening". There was a big big separation of service for those who ate "Farmer's table" and those who went with "Author's". Chef didn't even come to our table, and we understood that it wasn't an accident as he went to talk to both tables next to us. Minor but still didn't help to create a good vibe - because the waiters changed midway, the waiter 2 times brought us wrong jackets after dinner.
There were bunch of other minor details that I wouldn't like to experience in a restaurant at such level:
-Waiter described a drink having strong taste, however, it tasted like water, so when asked if it's supposed to taste so... "bland"? Waiter agreed that it is super light. Confusing.
-ALL (cold and hot) entrees were brought together.
-Didn't refill my water :(
-Desert wasn't included :(
Farmer's table - bad value for money ratio. Perhaps "Author's tasting menu" would have been much better as it seemed all the focus were on those clients.
Wouldn't recommend farmer's table to a close friend, however, wouldn't discourage them to try Author's tasting menu as...
