El Gato Negro — Restaurant in Vilnius

Recently visited the El Gato Negro restaurant that left a lasting impression on me and my friend. The staff were incredibly polite and friendly, and they treated us like royalty from the moment we walked through the door. They went above and beyond to ensure that we had a fantastic dining experience, and I can honestly say that we felt pampered and spoiled throughout the entire meal.

Not only were the staff welcoming, but the food was absolutely delicious. We tried a Mexcican dish, from classic comfort foods to more adventurous options, and each one was cooked to perfection. Everything was bursting with flavor, and we found ourselves eager to try more and more.

Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a dining experience that is both welcoming and delicious. The service was top-notch, the staff were friendly and accommodating, and the food was simply amazing. I am originally from NYC and have worked in the restaurant industry for a decade. I also have been to Mexico and lived in Latin America for some time. Needless to say, I know what Mexican food should taste like and this is not it.

Unfortunately, this place did not live up to its reputation and further convinced me that the majority of Lithuanians have no taste buds 😂

While I appreciate them trying to replicate authentic Mexican food, the food had no flavor. I’m not kidding. The Mexican food had no flavor. Or if flavor was somehow detected, all I could taste was cardboard and cat food.

We had the pork and fish tacos, turkey quesadillas, sopes, and avocado pistachio cake.

NO FLAVOR. One dish was surprisingly super spicey (not Lithuanian spicy, but actual spicy 😅). Yet it somehow still did not have any flavor. Not even sure how that’s possible.

Needless to say, this place has a ways to go before I can recommend...

Just like in México 🇲🇽 they are open, Polite and kind, but all gets spoken. Better come with great friends, The food is all about sharing trends.

From proper tacos to ceviche, And margaritas 🍹 to Luis. The menu is a proper fusion, Authentic and modern confusion.

For me, I made a slight mistake Took the octopus instead of steak. Once frozen, it did not surprise, Fresh fish would have been wise.

But that was just my preference and taste. Please try, enjoy, and don't let the evening go to waste!
