Wednesday, August 13th, in Vilnius turned into afternoon, and after exploring the city we found ourselves in a somewhat uneasy mood. Our previous attempt at a café had ended in disaster due to arrogant service, leaving us hungry and disappointed. Wandering the streets with empty stomachs, salvation came thanks to a quick search on my wife’s phone, where she found a place with the simple name Lola.
After the earlier letdown, our expectations weren’t high, which made the first impression all the more pleasant. We sat down in the outdoor garden, and almost immediately a young, very friendly waitress appeared. Her smile and professional attitude were like balm for our soured mood. Within just two minutes we had menus in hand — a night-and-day contrast to the experience we had a few streets away.
The outdoor seating was pleasantly simple and calm. Located in one of the charming lanes of the historic center, the café had a natural charm of its own. No flashy décor was needed — the beauty was in its simplicity and in the chance to quietly watch life go by. With each passing minute, our frustration faded, replaced by a renewed appetite for exploring.
The service truly defined our visit. The waitress was the embodiment of professionalism — attentive, helpful, and impressively quick. Within ten minutes of arriving, our drinks were already on the table. Her behavior was such a stark contrast to what we had just experienced elsewhere that it reminded us how crucial human touch is in hospitality.
We ordered homemade lemonades and an espresso tonic — a perfect choice for a warm afternoon. The drinks were refreshing, well-prepared, and exactly what you’d hope for. Nothing to criticize here. After a long walk through the city, they were just what we needed to recharge.
From the food menu, we were intrigued by the Eggs Benedict served in a unique Lithuanian twist — on puff pastry. The dish was simply excellent. Perfectly poached eggs combined with the flaky pastry and a delicious sauce made for a small culinary highlight. It was clear that the kitchen knows what they’re doing and that quality ingredients are a priority.
Throughout our entire visit, the service was flawless. The waitress appeared at just the right moments, cleared plates quickly and quietly, and discreetly checked that we had everything we needed. Her approach was a textbook example of how modern, customer-friendly service should look. We felt like valued guests, not a burden.
When it came time to pay, she brought the bill (€32) and politely asked whether we’d like to leave a tip. She then handed me the payment terminal, allowing me to select the amount myself. For such exemplary service, I gladly left €4 — more than the usual 10%, but in this case absolutely deserved.
Our visit to Café & Tea House Lola was not just a pleasant refreshment stop but also a kind of moral satisfaction. It proved that even in the same city, on the same day, you can encounter two completely different approaches to customers. While one business relied on arrogance, Lola clearly values its guests and goes the extra mile to make them feel welcome.
Overall, I consider Lola an absolute gem of Vilnius’s dining scene. A lovely setting, excellent food and drinks, and above all, outstandingly professional service make it a place we’d gladly return to anytime. If you’re in Vilnius looking for a spot where you’ll feel truly welcome and enjoy your meal, Lola...
Read moreLola cafe in Vilnius is a must-visit for anyone looking for a delicious breakfast or brunch spot. The cafe has a reputation for serving some of the best breakfast options in the city, and it's easy to see why. I recently visited Lola on a busy winter morning, and the place was packed with people, but the energy of the crowd only added to the charm. The service was great, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive.
I was impressed by the menu, which offered a wide range of options to choose from. I decided to go for the scrambled eggs with salmon on sourdough bread, which was cooked to perfection. The eggs were fluffy and the salmon was fresh and flavorful. My wife ordered the same, and we also shared the Lithuanian pancakes made out of curd with maple syrup, berries and cream. These pancakes were something truly special, the curd is a traditional Lithuanian dairy product and it gives a unique taste to the pancakes. The pancakes were perfectly cooked and the toppings were delicious. We both had Americano coffee and it was great, a perfect companion for the breakfast.
The prices were also very reasonable, considering the quality of the food and the service. The atmosphere was uplifting, with a warm and cozy decor and a great vibe, perfect to start the day. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Lola and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great breakfast spot. If you're ever in Vilnius, be sure to check out Lola cafe, you won't be...
Read moreHighly overrated and overpriced place.
What’s good? Location is not bad as long as you don’t sit outside, otherwise noise from the street is overwhelming
Amazing cinnamon tea (will buy it on Amazon.de now for home usage)
Quick service (at least in the afternoon not very crowded and even in quite empty)
Looks like it is quite clean
Turkish eggs were really good
Now to bad/average/mediocre
Lola bennys are a joke.
Seriously you get a croissant, with bacon, hollandise sauce and 1 pouched egg on top. Really for 11 euro it looks a bit not enough.
Everywhere I’ve bennies come with 2 eggs, not one.
It tasted good, but I feel it is a rip off either reduce price to 9 or add 1 more egg for 11
Shakshuka is terrible, absolutely disgusting even in average place like Skonis in Panorama shakshuka was much better
Toast with egg and pork (not sure what is the name) was the most disgustingly bad toast I ever had in my life and I am 38 so had quite a lot. It feels like this toast was invented with some drunk clown.
Overall would not recommend and won’t come back.
Service is good...
