Užsisakyti užtrukome - į ką bedėm pirštu - to nebuvo. Pirmiausiai komplimentus renka sriuba. Bendru sutarimu ji - super. Pilno kūno, aiškaus skonio profilio. Antras komplimentų vertas - morkų pyragas. Drėgnas, saldus, su prieskoniais ir graikiniais riešutais. Angelų pėdutės lakstė per skonio receptorius. Absoliutus krachas - benediktai. Salotos be dūšios ar idėjos. Šoninė minkšta ir neverta šoninės vardo. Hollandaise be skonio ir vandens skystumo. EN Sunday Brunch in Vilnius is like a basketball game for a middle-aged man - sacred. That's why I decided to write a review that would reflect both the respectable details and the pigs in the church. "Virtuvė" is in a great location. Close enough to the stations for those leaving and far enough away from the station fauna. We were there on a rainy day, but unlike the skies - the place turned out to be of colorful, fun atmosphere. It took us a while to order - anything we picked was out-of-stock. "Sold out". Selling out in a middle of nowhere is one thing, but selling out in the city center, or maybe even worse - selling out of brunch dishes before brunch hours are over is just poor planning. And you put the waitress in an awkward situation. There were no dumplings, no bruschetta, no croissants, no orange juice, no Korean soup... We stopped there and asked if there was ANY food left. First of all, the soup collects lots of our compliments. By consensus, it is great. Full-bodied, with a clear flavor profile. The second one worthy of compliments is the carrot cake. Moist, sweet, with spices and walnuts. Angel feet ran through the taste buds while eating this. Absolute disaster - Benedicts. Salad without soul or idea. Bacon soft and not worthy of that name. Hollandaise without taste and watery. The person who added two sad potatoes to all this - cut off his hands and suggest leaving the potatoes with the šaltibarščiai, because there is nothing for them to do here. One of the Benedicts was overcooked, which is simply disrespectful to the egg. The service is great, compliments to the girl who patiently explained what else we can order. I wish the chef finds salt, pepper and spices, because he does not cook for retirement home. The price-quality ratio is average. It did not hurt much, but it's not a...
Read moreBest environment. Really cozy place for a short break if you are travelling from/to Vilnius as it's so close to the bus/train station. One of the most unique places in Vilnius, as it's run by a jewish descent coffee maker- Joffe. You can be surprised by his delicious coffee and food (each day he prepares something new- soups, shakshuka, breakfast omelette and etc.) ☕🫖🧉🍳🥖🥯🥨🍲 Even if you won't meet him in person, you still can see a lot of his portraits or a sculpture-bust made of wood. You will definitely recognize him after that. If you become a regular client, you might have a chance to be painted by an artist, who always visits this coffee shop and paints interesting clients. 🖼️🎨🪄You might see some of her drawings there, too. So at least for a short break, do not doubt to visit this coffee shop as you will receive really warm...
Read moreStayed in Vilnius for a week, went twice to this cafe/restaurant. Can highly recommend!
It is located close to the train station. If you have a train to catch, you can take a break here before you board. Much better than the restaurants you find inside the station.
Theres pastries and coffee, so typical cafe stuff, but also food served hot (fish and chips, et cetera). So you can get a meal at any time of the day really.
And the prices are extremely affordable too! A hot chocolate with marshmallow topping and a croissant with tomato, mozzarella and pesto only cost me 5 Euros in total!
The waitress that I met here twice was really nice. And it doesn't take long for your food to be prepared at all.
The calm atmosphere with the nice background music makes this a perfect place to take a break or hang out and wait for the...
