Enjoying a pizza with loved ones is a great way to relax, and there’s a wonderful little restaurant in Vilnius serving wood-fired vegetarian pizza. With an authentic wood burning oven, The Casa La Familia creates gourmet pizza from organic ingredients, and takes pride in serving families and establishing a welcoming atmosphere that feels like home for all who enter.
I met my friend for dinner at The Casa La Familia, excited to enjoy great food, company and conversation. From the moment we arrived, we immediately sensed the laid-back, relaxed, and friendly vibe of the place. This is way more than a restaurant, as the service and staff made us feel like family. The cheery yellow walls and rustic restaurant design are reminiscent of a traditional home dining room, and really help to make you feel welcome and comfortable.
And not only is the restaurant beautiful, the staff warm and friendly, but the food is outstanding. We started with a Mozzarella salad, with avocado, mozzarella di buffalo, wild rocket, cherry tomatoes and basilica dressing. Garden fresh and delicious, I could eat this all myself. But I had to save room for the Gourmet pizza, complete with mozzarella, ricotta, truffle oil, fresh tarragon and Portobello mushrooms. Woodsy, rustic, and incredibly appetizing, this is the best pizza I’ve had in a while.
My friend opted for something different – Royal Asparagus pizza – and said she was delighted by it. With asparagus, mozzarella, creamy ricotta cheese, mushrooms, olive oil, rosemary and herbes de Provence, this was a unique blend of flavors that really worked deliciously.
To finish our delightful dinner, I chose panna cotta with blueberries as dessert, she 2 scoops of ice cream, forest berries and caramel. Of course, we shared, as both desserts were delectable. There is nothing about Casa La Familia that I wouldn’t recommend. It was such a...
Read moreWent with a local friend to casa la familia on October 24th. We arrived at 9:30pm, 30 min before closing. We requested a table for two and they refused, informing only take out. We noticed there were still customers inside eating at three tables and the wood oven was fully on. I said we just want to get the pizza eat and leave. We would be out in 20min max, as they said the pizza would take 5-10 min to get ready. Another waitress with blond hair came up, smacked the the counter, and aggressively said “those are the rules take out or leave”. I immediately responded that she didn’t have to talk to us like that, we were just asking questions politely. The customers around looked uncomfortably to this situation / her behaviour. She was clearly having a bad day.
Unfortunately I would never comeback to this restaurant based on this experience, my friend was embarrassed by staff’s behaviour as we were in his hometown…
I hope other customers don’t have go through this type...
Read moreIt is absolutely charming family run restaurant. Every dish and drink is made with love 🤍 I am vegan, and it is on very rare occasions when I can find place that cater for my dietary requirements, but here not they could accommodate them, I had several to choose from. I have decided to got for Italian one, and it was so delicious. Just right temperature! The pastry was not too crasty/dry or too puffy/thick, it was just perfect combination of thin base with a medium filled size border, so you did not feel overwhelmed by amount of pastry. The artichokes were sublime and good feel a taste of very mushroom, crunch of onion and taste of beautiful olive oil that was added on the top. The homemade lemonade has a delicious & delicate taste. The cup of quince tea with real quince bits inside was just divine - so fresh 🫶🏻 The team was truly sweet and accommodating 🤍 The music created a fun, relaxed, warm atmosphere as you were visiting your...
