Read the reviews carefully ? This was a huge let down. Entering the front door to an uninteresting large bland room with a glass surrounded reception desk was uninspiring. Facilities were non existeant. NO BAR. or sales etc.Its old.|The old lift is a few yards away for 3 upper floors and on even blander breakfast room. This matched the general low quality of said food. Watered down orange and apple with water aside. No normal breakfast ie sausage bacon or eggs except boiled. One day cooked mushrooms. Toast machine out the arc and slow for normal loaf sliced bread. Coffee in heated container and No way capuccino machine ie 30 years too early. Uprated bedroom was fair size with with uncomfartable bed.Double though we asked for twin. LG TV channels contained one German channel in English. Free water bottle and Kettle but NO coffer or tea. Fridge medium snall but I switched it off as slightly nuicanse. We were Located at rear with view of car park and noise from ajoining room was audible but we were too tired. |Good wardrobe and maids emptied rubbish daily. Last night got bed bites?.. |Hotel Location in a nothingless old area but is on the bus route. one stop returning to the Main stations was handy but pavements are not ideal walking back. Next door is a coffee shop and another pavement cafe just around the corner which was closed most of our visit. There is another accross from there just behind a keebap hole in the wall?. This is the direction towards interesting Old Town area and Town Hall. |The Very large but uninspiring nearby market hall is followed by a decent supermarket closing 9pm. That was good. So was a little restraunt set behind it. Onwards past two derelict buildings to the Gates of Dawn ? and left inside toward the Philharmonic area which very nice. However the concert I attended could have been a disaster as ONLY ONE HALF main door was open to get out.??? A Distinct dangerous situation and major fire risk, Took me twenty minutes from end of concert and I was in the first half of escapees?. No one seemed interested as the stairs were packed with people?. ||Vilnius is the poorest Capitol we have been to in Europe in60 years. . Done Most?. It is not a cheapo place but younger generation are far far far more pleasant than the elder generation. Same in Kauas. Suggest you find somewhere better if you are on holiday. Sorry Thought it was a bargain when we booked. Forget it and...
Read moreOver all it is a pleasant stay in Vilnius thanks to the location of the hotel however it’s sad to waste such a perfect location on mediocre service and lack of care from the managers, there’s really potential for something great if someone would actually care about the place.
First of all the hotel’s location is perfect!Walking to all major attractions, areas and the central station is easy and a few gems are really close especially the blues bar around 1 minute away.
The rooms are not luxurious but they are good and clean with a working bed and bathroom. The reason for the 2 stars is unfortunately the service. Our room was never noticeably cleaned, neither was the bed made with new sheets. During our whole stay we never got a refill with toilet paper, telling the reception did not change our situation and we were forced to steal from the cleaning trolly. However some mornings we preferred to sleep in and we used the “do not disturb” sign, though after coming back to the hotel in the evening we saw that trash bags were changed and towels were folded so why not clean the room properly? Especially after we told the reception…
The breakfast was good and some variety over the days.
My last and maybe biggest concern is the safety, in case of an emergency the emergency exits are blocked off by bags of dirty sheets and trash from the cleaners which is a HUGE safety violation! The doors to the emergency exit stairs are also left open constantly which in case of a fire will let smoke fill up the escape route.
The reception CLOSES at 00:00 we encountered guests arriving late due to a delayed flight, no one in the reception to help them, neither did anyone pick up the phone. So be sure to arrive BEFORE closing if you have a prepaid visit unless you want to join the homeless...
Read moreWe stayed in room 209 and I can honestly say after reading reviews online that I was a little concerned about the hotel and I relayed that to the site I booked it with before our arrival.||||The positives are definitely its location and breakfast. ||||It is 5 minutes from the bus and train stations. This is great because the airport runs regular direct services to and from the stations.||||The breakfast was plentiful and there was a decent variety of cold and hot food to cater for all tastes although we did find it amusing that they served cooked vegetables for breakfast.||||The room on the day of arrival did have the necessary provisions needed and it was tidy also.||||It is also near the Maxima stores and plenty of restaurants and bars.||||The negatives are definitely the heating not on. ||||We arrived on the 17th of October and at that time of year there has to be heating on. Now they did provide a small heater to plug in but these heaters are so old that they must cost a fortune to use and some people can find that such heaters can make them feel stuffy.||||The rooms need soundproofing. The main road doesn't bother me but what bothers me is listening to other guests talking and one room in particular had a couple arguing with each other.||||The breakfast staff were friendly but the rest were not. Maybe the employers are hard to work for?||||The room wasn't cleaned the next day and we didn't notice any cleaners around that day either so there may be merit to the complaints about the condition of the rooms.||||There was no staff at reception after 8pm which again shows that this place takes shortcuts. ||||Maybe this place is better suited in the Summer but definitely not in the...
