Bazilijonai — Restaurant in Vilnius

This is a good restaurant. There are a number of really superb ones in town, but they know their worth and in them it can be close to a hundred dollars a meal. Bazilijonu is not in that league or price range. It has a large outdoor terrace as well as a small one near the door. It is just outside the city (holy) Gate of Dawn, to the right and across the street of this same name, opposite the Moon Garden Hotel. I say all this because I found Bazilijonu solid for what you pay, while Etno Dvaras, which has two large places inside the Old Town (through the gate) and a bigger menu pretty much in the same price range, seemed to me dreadful (tasteless beer, greasy sausage, lackadaisical vegetables and sauce). This restaurant offers accessible entry with main level full bar, indoor accessible seating and outdoor accessible seating . We walked down a flight of steps to lower level for several tables. Delicious food of chicken Kiev with side salad and fairly crispy French fries and charge for ketchup. I ordered a four item guild your own meal. I almost ordered the ribs but went for chicken, grilled with a great smoky flavor. Next choice item was a starch but I choose grilled vegetables as a substitute and asked for my choice of sauce for Smoky BBQ on the side. Everything was perfectly prepared and presented.
