Ampang Homeland Yong Tau Foo — Restaurant in Ampang Jaya Municipal Council

I have been eating at this shop since 30years ago when they opened their branch in Taipan USJ back then I was a small little boy. I like their big piece yong tau foo and the soy sauce soup. But since I am living in KL now, so for recent years i go to the ampang branch. This is a family operated restaurant, bcos i see familiar faces and the daughters are running it now.

It takes me 25minutes drive to ampang just to dine here bcos it is reminiscence of my childhood taste. Throughout the years I felt they have gone from average to bad and WORST now.

I came here twice in 2 weeks and their service level dropped to bottom. They served the soup yongtaufoo and fried ytf unserved, while other tables is fully served. After complaint only they start making the fried stuff and that is like 10minutes after serving the soup ytf.

Nevermind i believe people overlook. But I came today same thing happened. The shop was only occupied with 5 tables. And they rather spend time blow water with other customer than handling my complaint.

AND worst .. the have cut down the size of the yong tau foo(the price is RM2.20per pcs now) Its just disheartening a good family operated restaurant for decades get destroyed by their kids just like that.

That explains Foong Foong beside is always full house everytime whenever i am off leaving. Foong Foong not my go to place bcos I have a bias but now it seems that is an apparent reason why they are consistently pack...

When I entered this shop during lunch hour, I only saw few customers which depicts something is wrong. Sat down and no one cares to serve me until I need to wave and call them(If the shop is fully occupied, I can pass on this). Staff doesn't seem friendly and the nightmare started. I ordered some YTF and clearly they have missed out some items until I need to remind them to reserve it. Taste for some YTF shows signs of unpleasant taste and lack of freshness. Soup dumpling is lacking of taste & chunkiness and lady finger size is small. Even the black sauce taste sourish which doesn't seem right. I ordered a soya drink and it almost turn into a sugar cane drink. Clearly the staffs here are lacking of passion in maintaining this business, which suggested me I should try the next door food next round. This place is good to fill up your stomach when there's no other choices of...

Today .. drop by for a Yong Tau Foo,, was around the Ampang area . Usually I go to the next door as my son likes the Yong Tau Foo.. but today they did not open .. so I bring to this Ampang Homeland Yong Tau Foo .. as I saw they have the Wanton Noodle serve here as well. So I order and my son order the Yong Tau Foo..

The yong tau foo serve consider fast , and the wanton mee come a bit late , but it is still ok, thst is due too . Every table had ordering the Wonton mee. Was curious too.

But when I taste it , wow!! This is very good . i can say it is better than the Yulek Wanton mee. Can give a try . For the Yong Tau Foo snd the Pandan Fried Chicken .. it is the best ever . The Yong Tau Foo, I dont have to say much . All I can say next time go that area, there are 3 shops . But I will go to this one. Hahaha you know why !
