I really can't remember when I last came to eat at this restaurant. Definitely very long time ago. Way beyond pre-pandemic. If not because it's outside my daily routes and far away from my house, I would have frequent this restaurant. Main reason my family and I love Yong Tau Foo.
I was on my way with my family to Genting, so happened to pass by the Ampang area. My dad suggested it, so we swing in for lunch to fill up our belly before going up the cloud.
Reached here before 2pm. Managed to find a table without much waiting though the crowd at many on Saturday. The food came pretty fast and we straight away dig in. All the YTF portion is considered generous or should I said didn't shrink for the fact that now it cost RM2.00 a piece. Talk about inflation! 5 of us ordered 23 pieces with rice and we ate to our full. It has been a while I ate YTF. Overall cost around RM66 in total. Well definitely much cheaper than eating at Genting Skyworld. The general verdict is that it's still a good place to savour YTF. However I have tasted better one than this restaurant.
I would give overall 4 stars if not because of the challenging parking issue. Fortunately we parked at an empty land just around 50m or so. And it's free. Due to the restaurant location which is just in front of busy main road, parking is just...
Read moreFoong Foong Yong Tau Foo isn't just a restaurant, it's a timeless classic. I've been visiting since the late 90s, and it's been an absolute addiction ever since. Even though I live much further away now, I still make the pilgrimage every few months because some things are just worth the journey. It's amazing to see how the faces behind the counter have changed over generations, a testament to the enduring legacy of this place. I have fond memories of the old days, with orders sliding from the counter to the kitchen and the lively atmosphere created by staff communicating through mics and loudspeakers. While things are more streamlined now with orders keyed into a system, the essence of Foong Foong remains. Over the years, the yong tau foo taste has evolved a bit, but the dumplings â both in soup and deep-fried are still absolutely fantastic and a must-order. I also appreciate the modernized ordering system; it's convenient to order right at the table with their clear picture menus and order slips, a big change from the old counter-ordering days. Foong Foong Yong Tau Foo is more than just a meal; it's a place brimming with wonderful memories for me. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a taste of tradition and delicious...

Huge pieces, reasonable pricing Each piece is priced at RMâŻ2.20âRMâŻ3.00. That might sound a bit much, but trust meâthe size is gigantic and totally worth it.
