This place has become our regular hangout place to have breakfast with families and friends...
Now that they have relocated to a better place, we have made it our regular hangout...
We used to come here regularly for breakfast when my office was at Dataran Palma nearby, but this was our first visit after quite a while. What I remember the most from our previous visits was that we had to scramble for seats, as there were not enough tables and chairs...โนโน
Today, the scenario has not changed at all...I had to put my stony face and waited at a table for two when I saw the two of the patrons were about to finish their breakfast. But apparently, they didnt leave just yet, only until some friends of theirs had arrived and decended from the car, and took over the table from them!!๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ฑ Obviously, that made me look like a fool...
Luckily, my wife struck up her most charming smiles at two gentlemen at a different table..who were made to feel a bit uncomfortable, and decided to vacate the table early...I guess you just cant keep a woman hungry for too long!!๐คญ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
And that was how we got our table..I told my wife, we cant come here too often, as her method seemed to be quite successful, and some of them might have taken the gesture the wrong way!!๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ฑ
My wife ordered the soto AND roti canai garing, and in between she had some traditional malay kuih, which is her all time favorite, and also Mak Jah's specialty..I had nasi lemak with sambal sotong and paru goreng, which turned out quite all right, as Im quite fussy about my nasi lemak...This one was not spicy, and passed my seal of...
ย ย ย Read moreI have been dining at this stall since the early 90s and decide to review it now in case I totally forget to. The specialty here is the tradional Malay cakes such as serimuka, kuih keria, tepung talam, kuih badak, pulut panggang, lepat ubi, bingka, etc. which are probably the best in KL/Selangor. Standards have been maintained throughout the years since most of the cakes are still made by the owner. Those from suppliers are strictly evaluated and only the best are put out for sale. The stall is only open for breakfast and lunch and the cakes usually run out before noon. However other cooked dishes such as nasi lemak, meehoon, roti canai with their accompanying rendang, sambal sotong, fried chicken, etc. are available until lunch time. Bulk sale for small gatherings, functions, etc. make up a significant portion of Mak...
ย ย ย Read moreSeriously disappointed. Food quality and taste deteriorated significantly compared to previously (old stall). Soto is bland without tauge, only filled with like two cebisan ayam and a begedil. When asked for tauge, we're told mmg they serve soto without tauge (quite surprise coz there's tauge in their mee rebus). Mee rebus only filled with half (boiled) egg and tauhu, beberapa batang tauge and some fried cucur, no meat at all. The only improvement probably is the Beep ordering system and the bigger eating area. We won't be coming back after this. Hope Mak Jah Cafe...
