Read moreSaw this place in Grab Food and came to the restaurant instead of ordering delivery. The place looks good and the menu super extensive. Food options range from rice and noodles to typical western fare and even vegetarian options. They also have an extensive drinks and dessert menu.
We ordered the Basil Chicken Rice, Chicken Chop and Herbal and HuaDiao Wine Chicken Pot. No drinks for me cos they don't have any plain water or Chinese tea options.
The Basil Chicken Rice came with a fried egg and some pickled vegetables. The fried egg was cold and sad and the basil chicken was a tad too salty. The food was served quick and thus, I presume that everything is pre-prepared and all they had to do was scoop and serve.
The Chicken Chop also arrived fast so again, the items must have been pre-prepared. The fries were soggy and just slightly warm and tasted as if they have been fried hours ago.
The only dish which they took a while to prepare was the chicken pot. Taste wise, it was ok, very herbal. The 'pot' came with lots of longans, goji berries and a handful of herbs. Chicken were all chicken breasts. The broth was also tad too salty.
I added a side order of chicken wing and this was when I felt 'cheated'. The wing was an add-on option and for RM3 I thought it was a whole wing but lo and behold, I was just served a miserable wingette. Not worth the price these add-ons!
Might not return as I felt that there was nothing extraordinary about the food although they are decent. Price is definitely on the higher side, considering the environment - air conditioned, clean and comfortable but comparatively, we could get similar if not better quality from a food court.
Great for those who wants comfort though and also a place where you can sit and catch up with friends and stay...
Read moreWe were there around 11:30 am and it was already full house. We registered and were 14th in line. We saw most of the tables were yet to get their orders and thought it would be a long wait.
Hungry, so we decided to visit Yang Mooi beef noodles for a quick bite! Half an hour later, we got back to queue and another half an hour later we were called.
We ordered what caught our eyes in a FB video, western food. A mixed grill (of chicken wings, boxing chicken and skewered chicken), Mexican deep fried chicken chop and a "yin yong" milk tea kosong.
Drink came in a bit but the food sure took a while. The "ying yong" milk tea kosong was good, thought it would be bland but it was really good. The mixed grill came looking like over grilled, dark colours looked burnt but we were surprised by its tasty bits stuck on the sides albeit the meat was a bit dry. Though it was, we found it acceptable. The Mexican chicken chop came much later. Looked like a large portion but the taste was not what we expected. It could have been catered to youngsters, deep fried thick battered chicken drizzled with 2 sauces, crisscross fries drizzled with plenty of cheese sauce and some veggies.
Skipping the batter, the chicken was left alone. So we asked for the menu and see what suited to our balance of space we have. Ahhh...cheese and egg sandwich and a bowl of dessert, peach gum with white fungus.
Waited for it too. At last, the dessert was served and we found it was too sweet or over sweet like most desserts do. Nice! The egg and cheese sandwich was ok lah, the cheese could have been tastier.
We would visit again but we'll skip the western food section and try what most people ordered, single or set hot pot meals and some...
