The Chicken Rice Shop Melawati Mall — Restaurant in Ampang Jaya Municipal Council

this is the poorest performing TCRS outlet i've visited over the years since the opening of melawati mall. food is pretty standard but service is downright poor.

my wife and i DREAD when my kids want TCRS for lunch in melawati mall.

coincidentally visited on the day one of their staff from management/corporate 'turun padang' (visited). all workers were working efficiently to look busy. all were friendly, helpful, attentive... that is until the corporate left by 1pm (most probably to visit another site), then the ship sunk.

absolute 'karam'.

noticed the sense of hypocrisy in the shop.

workers' smiles dropped sour, paced were slowed, shop managers were lethargic and back to chatting, servers evade back in the kitchen; raising your hand for a service request was utterly ignored - i ended having to walk to the kitchen to call them out for service. no server wanted to look in the direction of a table/customer.

that day ordered for a basic meal for 1 shared between my 2 daughters... that 1 meal took 35 minutes to serve out.

total nightmare.

for the love of god, prophets, and angels... please reshuffle this particular outlet or at the very least retrain the staffs. alternatively, pleaee proceed to waive the service tax imposed for a non-existent service since the tax contribute to staffing/salary but the staff doesn't function.

i know it's a 'if you don't like it, don't buy it' situation, but if you have kids - this is a stress-bound experience for parents having to follow the kids' choice during family meal time and succumbed to being a prisoner in restaurant that inevitably requires you to pay.

on a lighter note: TCRS' curry laksa is delicious.

misc. suggestion: provide straws as optional. i invite the management to try and drink milo dinosaur without one. use...
