Banana Leaf Rice — Restaurant in Borneo

Year 2023 (3 stars) I visited this restaurant a few times after my first review. I seldom come because the cook keeps changing. So this leads to change in the taste of food as well. The cleanliness and interior decoration of this restaurant has improved a lot. As expected the prices of the food items has increased. However, the food aren't as tasty as it used to be. The curry are cooked with a mixture of curry powder bought from local the supermarket. The food are just left widely opened to dust and insects. I hope this will be improved. My next visit? Perhaps when they have improved the taste and quality of their food to commensurate with the higher price charged

Rare as they are in Miri, this shop serves great authentic indian cuisine at reasonable prices. You have a choice or ordering indian mixed rice or indian menu item. However, the selection of condiments and dishes in mixed rice is not self service, but served by the waitress, so the portion can be quite small. RM 10 for 1 chicken dish and 2 vegetable dishes is rather a cheap price for Indian cuisine in Miri. The place is airy. Came for lunch, looked at the dishes and ordered white rice, mutton curry and iced milo. Came the banana leaf - I didnt order this and said I just ordered a basic one. Still she laid it out and came the vegetables. Most of the mutton are bones with little meat. Not even a complementary papadom. For RM25.80 - it is insane. You are allowed to charge this price if you are serving like Nirvana or Dev Deli or Bala in Bangsar (in all aspect, food, service, set banana leaf). Not...
