Chang Man coffee shop is like a rare jewel hidden away in rows of almost abandoned shop-lots in the middle of the city. It's a remarkable find for this reviewer to come across this food paradise. The specialty of the place is Fuzhou or Foochow cuisine. Here is a list of must-tries you need to order.

(1) Kampua - noodles tossed in shallot oil or lard with fried shallots and BBQ pork. (2) Ding Bian Hu - rice flour based noodles in a delicious broth of thinly sliced squid and juicy pork balls. (3) Soh Mien - thin rice noodles served in a hearty bowl of egg soup or chicken broth with red wine. (4) Hong Ngan - thick rice noodles with preserved mustard greens giving it a unique and slightly sourish but pleasant taste.

There are also other delectable dishes worth trying such as the fried noodles in sweet sauce, a favorite among the children. There's also the Sarawak laksa, Pan-Mee and the Kom-Pia - a Foochow bagel deep fried and stuffed with succulent minced pork.

The coffee is a must! It's black, strong and brewed by a barista in tight shorts and flashy sports shoes.

When the Egg Soup MeeShua arrived, the aroma of red wine immediately filled the air. The fried egg generously topping the noodles was simply divine, adding a whole new level of flavor with its rich egg-wine scent. The black fungus was incredibly soft; while it's normal for such a large piece to be a bit tough, this one was pleasantly chewy. The minced pork was abundant, and each bite of the noodles was perfectly paired with pork, especially when dipped in the black soy sauce. The fine meeshua remained delicate even after soaking, which is a testament to the chef’s skill. It didn’t become mushy or overcooked by the end of the meal. Clearly, the chef knows their craft. Breakfast with a bowl of delicious food feels like a blessing from Angel, energizing you for the entire day. But Boss, the portion was so generous that I couldn’t finish it all.

Ordered the Mee Goreng Sup udang. the noodles were really tasty, but the waiting time was quite long oh around 30 minutes. Service was noticeably slow, probably because it was crowded.

The roti kahwin was delicious, and it came with a boiled egg, which was also good.

Would recommend improving the service speed and cleanliness, as the place looked a bit messy and unorganized during peak hours.

Might come back again but definitely not...
