IPO (I Prefer Original) — Restaurant in Borneo

Atmosphere and service were more towards 3.5 stars. This place used to be 5/5 in food. It had the best curry chicken, laksa and teh tarik (w/ or w/o cincau). And its other dishes were reported to be good, too (mi goreng, roti kahwin, kai si hor fun). Now everything seems to taste 'diluted'. Nothing remarkable about their laksa and curry anymore. The fragrance and absolute tastiness for both are gone. The teh tarik tastes more towards milky than tea. It used to be perfectly 50-50. The atmosphere and service now seemed to be more of going through the motion of maintaining the status quo than providing quality food and service. Anyway, it's still a good place to hang out; I think. This was my second time there and I am happy that both times I had a great experience except this time the owner (maybe) helped service too and he was a great person. Very accommodating, ready to serve and always move around sending the orders to tables. The food arrived timely, tasted wonderful and most touched when they key-in our individual order into a set order which actually available but we didn’t realise at the time. I had encountered such thing before and usually it would cost me more. But the staff/owner’s attention to detail and kindness is much appreciated. They never told us they changed it. I came to IPO for 5 years and the food and drink in this kopitiam suits me perfectly. The worker in this kopitiam is friendly and they always fulfill my request perfectly. I don’t find anything bad and unsatisfying from the staff here. Unlike the 1 star post previous. Maybe is the customer itself have problem and he/ she can look into the problem themselves! Everyone is paying unless you book the whole kopitiam for yourself and the staff give you an angry face that maybe a different issue!

Overall, I would leave a 5 star review to this kopitiam and everyone should come and try it...
