Limau & Linen — Restaurant in Borneo

This is my second visit. We had high expectations on this place as i know they had experience on restaurants but I am really disappointed with the service here. We (a group of five with one kid) called the first time we went and the line couldn’t get through, was met by a long queue when we reached there. The second time we came we called and they said they don’t accept reservations. There was a table previously occupied and we requested to sit there but they refused to let us sit because customers complained it’s hot eventhough we insisted. Finally when we got a table for two for 5 of us, they told us to wait for the adjacent table and they will combined the table for us. While we were waiting, a table for 8 was available so we requested to be seated there but now they told us it is RESERVED now (I thought reservation wasn’t allowed). When we queried the waitress why the reservation wasn’t allowed but tavke is reserved, she told us it from some “higher management”. For the other table which they INSISTED not to let us sit because it’s hot was now seated with other ppl while our group of 5 is still waiting for adjacent table to empty out so we could sit.

Besides the bad service, the food wait is quite long and the quality is just ok. A lot of food items aren’t available even at lunch time. I think they should really improved their service for a restaurant like this. Wouldn’t go back at least for the foreseeable future. Also Facebook rating was closed for review, must be afraid of bad ratings I see?

Update: after finishing the meals I am updating this review. The food was ok on first visit but on second visit, the rice was not even cooked, you can literally taste raw rice in the served dish, when requested for a new one they can only changed to mash since ye rice will take another 30 minutes to cook. We also ordered “the works” the potatoes wasn’t available but we weren’t informed when ordering, and there is no replacement for the missing potatoes until we requested it. Portion is small and the mushroom is shimeji mushroom instead of the button mushroom listed in the menu. The bacon bits in the carbonara pasta is very pathetic too. They even missed two of our orders, and we need to ask 3 times for a missed drink to be served, and they served the wrong drink. Mashed potatoes were significantly less impressive than on my first visit 2 days ago. And the table that was “reserved” wasn’t occupied by the end of the visit (which was approximately 1.5 hours). There was also some problems with the power supply (city gourmet wasn’t affected) which apparently happened on Saturday as well. The Food quality and price is definitely not worth the poor service...

It was my FIRST visit & will be LAST also. from google reviews rated was good & decided to give a try, no expectation no disappointment. The ambience was fine , food was meh, service was meh, dessert was meh, the whole restaurant smelled worse than fast food restaurant, ventilation wasn’t good the dinning smelled very oily .

We ordered 4 dishes & 2 desserts, eventually wanted to order more but the 1st dish totally ruined my whole appetite . 1st dish, Confit chicken & truffle barley risotto, I guess chicken doesn't thaw before cooking it. For the first time ever in my life eating a chicken thighs texture, the meat texture is like eating chicken breast. TBH i rather go Ayam penyet. The barley risotto totally ruined the whole dish, & no truffle taste at all.

2nd dish was Pork Schnitzel Panko Breaded pork loin, the pork was super dried & hard. i Must give a clap to the chef, really next level can cook the mushroom until it has no taste at all , until I forget they are mushrooms. 吃了个寂寞。

3rd dish was Wagyu Burger Looks good but a bit wasted to use wagyu in a burger if the chef doesn't cook it well. Wagyu was too dried. Brioche Bun acceptable . Taste i have nothing to say . Was Freaking angry with their service, we asked the service staff to help us divide the burger , it's a just a simple 2 cut can't be done?. I totally can understand was restaurant was busy , what i can't accept it was his replied was F*ing rude.(pardon my language ) His replied : “They are not going to cut it!” with an attitude tone.

Last was Truffle Mushrooms Pizza No truffle taste, can't find the mushrooms in the pizza , only found 2 super thin slices of mushroom pathetically hiding under the cheese. Pizza crust was too rubbery, chew until my jaw almost separated from my mouth.

After disappointment with their mains, but still give them 2nd chance for their pastries.

Order Mille Feuille & Tiramisu . For MF, I really can't understand for using buttercream for filling. Lemon taste is not here or there. The puff pastry was unevenly cooked , and partially was chao dar .The only can be eaten are the strawberries.

The tiramisu , coffee taste not much . Overall, still ok is like eating an “empty soul tiramisu”.

I'm a person who doesn't like to waste food. If the food is not nice I will still tried to finish it no matter what. But sorry to said i tired my best still have lot of waste. Will never visit this place again, after dine in for about 2hrs, came out i feel super stink. The whole experience I think any Zi Char stall is also...

I recently visited a Western food restaurant called "Limau &Linen" and had an overall pleasant experience. Costly😮 The restaurant had a cozy ambiance with comfortable seating and a friendly atmosphere. The highlight of my visit was the exceptional service provided by the waitresses. They were attentive, courteous, and always had a smile on their faces. Their prompt assistance and knowledge about the menu made my dining experience truly enjoyable. Kuddos to Jasmin, waitress that serve us.

The menu at Western Food Haven offered a wide range of Western dishes, from steaks and burgers to pasta and seafood. The food itself was delicious and well-prepared, with great attention to taste and presentation. The ingredients used were fresh, and the flavors were well-balanced. The restaurant also offered a decent selection of beverages to complement the meal.

However, the only downside of my visit was the slow food preparation. Despite the attentive service from the waitresses, there was a noticeable delay in receiving our meals. It seemed like the kitchen was understaffed or experiencing some issues that caused the delay. While the waitresses did their best to keep us informed about the delay and apologized for the inconvenience, it did affect the overall dining experience.

Despite the slow food preparation, I appreciate the efforts of the waitresses to ensure that we had a pleasant time at Western Food Haven. Their excellent service and professionalism certainly made up for the delay in food. I believe that with some improvements in the kitchen's efficiency, this restaurant has the potential to be an outstanding dining destination.

In conclusion, if you're looking for a Western food restaurant with friendly and attentive waitresses, Limau & Linen is a good choice. The ambiance is cozy, the menu offers a variety of delicious dishes, and the waitstaff provides exceptional service. Just be prepared for a possible delay in receiving your food.
