I feel this experience needs to be shared.

I ordered bak kut teh and double confirmed with the lady who took my order (an auntie) that I did NOT want any innards. When my bowl arrived, I started eating and only realized a few bites in that it contained innards. I immediately asked the same auntie to come over and showed her the bowl (photo was taken at that moment). I picked out a few pieces of innards. She paused, then admitted, “Oh, you’re right you ordered without innards!”

To avoid making things difficult for her, I simply said “It’s okay.” But what surprised me was her response: she just laughed and walked away. No apology, no offer to replace the bowl, no gesture at all no compensation for extra pork…I was honestly speechless.

When I went to the counter to pay, I asked the cashier (who I believe is the boss lady) whether the price is the same with or without innards and it is. She even told me “If there’s anything wrong, you can let us know and we’ll change it for you.” The issue is, I did let them know. The staff admitted their mistake. So… what now?

A simple apology or offer to make it right would’ve...

If you're a fan of hearty, comforting bowls of Bah Kut Teh, this spot is a must-visit. From the moment we sat down, the service stood out: attentive, friendly, and thoughtful. One of the best parts? The staff generously refilled our soup without us even needing to ask, which added a warm and welcoming touch to the whole experience.

Now, on to the star of the meal = the Bah Kut Teh itself. The broth was rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced in flavor, not too herbal, not too salty, just the way it should be. It had that deep, simmered-for-hours kind of taste that hits the spot.

What truly impressed us was the tenderness of the meat. Every piece, from the pork ribs to the belly, was cooked to perfection (fall-off-the-bone) tender yet still juicy and flavorful. Even the tofu and mushrooms soaked up the broth beautifully, adding variety and heartiness to each bite.

This place clearly cares about both its food and its customers. The little things like prompt refills of soup make a big difference. Highly recommended for anyone craving an authentic, satisfying Bah Kut Teh experience. We’ll...

This outlet was recommended by my colleague in Penang, the air conditioned restaurant was indeed great plus point. Walking distance from Amari Hotel. This Bak kut Teh franchise serves herbal soup base as well as dried version Bak Kut Teh. The herbal soup version has a distinctive aroma and the after taste gave me a mouthful of light spice fragrance. In additional the above we also order the vinegar pork trotter, the sweet dark vinegar & ginger slice was not only tasty, it brought back lots of memories, as this dish has been a faithful dish for pregnant ladies of chinese race who had just given birth, as this dish is believed to fortify the calcium loss during pregnancy. Very authentic traditional taste. An BKT outlet that won’t go wrong…...
