Local style hawker center foodcourt. Been a regular at this place for dinner. Sitting near the grill seafood will have smoky smell on you when you leave. During hot days avoid sitting too near the street area (drain) where you can smell the bad drain smells as you eat. From time to time there’s tourist bus dropping them off to eat as well.

Highly recommend : Grill seafood stall ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Stingray Fish were cooked in perfect timing to ensure the soft juicy flesh that complement their sauce. Their dipping sauce is the best to go with any grill fish, very appetizing. I also recommend their stir fry Lala, very smooth and sweet meat with their Tauchu bean paste sauce. They also have grill pearl corn which is really sweet and aromatic with their spice sprinkle around it as they grill. It is a bit pricey but worth it as their quality persistent with every visit. Thai stall ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Mama Tom Yum Noodle nice. A lot ingredients given. Herbal Soup ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Although pricey, chicken given is big portion. The herbal soup is thick and nice. Mediocre : Satay ⭐️⭐️⭐️ A bit dry the meat but quite big. Please avoid eating the burnt part to prevent cancer. Spicy Garlic Lala Soup ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Comfort hot soup, highly recommend to add glass noodle. The potato a bit too thin but I guess it’s faster to cook that way. BBQ chicken wings ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Nice chicken wings and drumsticks but a bit dry.

Not recommended:

Char Koay Kak ⭐️⭐️ Edible, though the sauce is more on sweet side. The cube is big not cut slightly random small pieces to have better mouthfeel when eat, just personal preference. Quite oily as well and not really aromatic. Char Koay Teow ⭐️⭐️ Oily, no wok hei. Sauce not so nice. Portion decent. Chinese Stall - Hand Tear Stir Fry Cabbage ⭐️ Horrendous, sauce taste bad and sweet. Claypot Shrimp Glass Noodle ⭐️ Waited very long, shrimp overcooked, not fresh, chemical taste in the shrimp. The sauce not compatible at all. Garlic given a lot so whole pot taste of strong semi raw garlic taste. I guess it’s great for garlic lover? 😅 Hokkien Mee ⭐️⭐️ Sometimes edible sometimes fail. One time the soup tastes of burnt. Maybe they fry the shrimp shell until burnt…? Thai Stall Tom Yam Chicken Fried Rice ⭐️ First glance I know it’s gonna be a failed dish. The fried egg was soaking with 2 tbsp of cooking oil. I had to use my spoon to scoop out the excess oil. The fried rice too soft, lumpy, oily and too salty. The tom yam paste they also failed to distribute fried evenly with the rice. Overall the rice already very salty, it come with even more surprise of Tom yam paste clump with rice giving it extra salty. There’s nothing Tom Yam taste to it even. No Tom Yam leaves, no onion..the rice tasted sweet based even. There’s nothing chef cook this with cold oil, Tom yam paste and sugar and that’s it. The chicken meat tasted bad like strong odour and plenty of thick rubbery smelly chicken skin that I skip all of it eating only horrible...

Grilled Seafood Galore

We barely had 2 hours of break in between meal - and it was already time for dinner 😅 even though the looks on everyone's faces were quite full and unwilling, we pulled ourselves and braved the evening traffic to this food course located next to Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu Highway.

Miraculously I started to feel hungry at the sight of countless fresh seafood on display at the front of the huge food course as I walked in. We quickly secured our tables first before proceed to order. The food stalls were scattered around the food court and it would take some time to decide on the various tyoe of foods.

◾Grilled Seafood - we had grilled sting ray, Gai bei (chicken drumstick) fish, mussels in minced garlic, grilled squid, cockles, clams (lala) and balitong (siput sedut). All of the seafoods were done in various way that they tasted the best. With fresh seafood, battle has been won halfway.. ◾prawn noodle - didn't try but looked delicious though ◾sotong kangkung - again, love the cuttlefish and kangkung covered with the awesome prawn paste and generous crushed peanuts. ◾moo ping - Thai street snack made delicious here.. tender and sweet meat! ◾kuey teow t'ng - the kids wanted to eat it. ◾oh chien - it was OK but I prefer Joo Hooi's version that I ate earlier during the day.

We actually ordered more than we could eat - rather ambitious I'd say. And in the end, we still managed to finish everything because as Chinese, we were taught not to waste good...
