BeĀngels Specialty Coffee — Restaurant in George Town

The atmosphere and environment was nice and cozy. However, I waited almost an hour and my food still did not came, and they gave me the wrong drink. Ordered supreme earl grey tea but came with oolong rose, anyhow I still drink it. Thought it could not get any worse, I was very hungry and waited patiently for the food but it's been 45 mins or more, yet my food was still not here. Was a bit frustrated when I asked the waiter but they said they only have 2 chef, and that food orders are slow because many ppl ordered food. Ok I get it you're understaffed, but maybe at least inform the customer on whether the food will take very long? And whether they could wait.... I couldn't wait anymore because I was super hungry so I asked for cancellation if the food was not prepped yet, and thankfully they refunded me the money. Overall I would say I was left with a bad first impression. Came here excited with the pretty cafe design and was anticipating the food but in the end didn't even ate...

I've visited this cafe about three times now and each time the food tasted really good. For my most recent visit, we ordered prawn aglio olio and fish and chips.

The prawns were succulent and well-seasoned and I loved the dried shrimp taste in the noodles. They used angel hair pasta, if I'm not mistaken, and they cooked it well. It had a nice bite to it.

As for the fish and chips, I really liked their tartar sauce. The fish was nice and crispy too.

Both dishes were worth the price in my opinion (RM20+) as their portions were generous, their taste delicious, and their ingredients of good quality.

In all my visits, the cafe wasn't very crowded, so I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. I also liked the live music they had. They have solo singers as well as bands performing every Friday and Saturday (their performance times/dates are on Beangels' FB and IG pages).

Service was good. The staff were friendly and food was served relatively quickly.

We usually go to the outlet in Island Plaza. Our first visit to this one in Tree Square. Very relaxed vibes and friendly, welcoming faces. Like its sister outlet the Flat White is superb. One of the best in Penang. The potato wedges and the fries that came with the smoked duck sandwich were crispy, hot and a delight to down with some ketchup. The sandwich itself was alright but could do with some sogginess control. The smoke salmon cream cheese tartine was also quite tasty and fresh. Then the downers - the poppy seed bagel would be better if toasted properly. The vanilla milkshake was a lazy, limp excuse for a milkshake. Overall a great brunch.
