Shin Boon Kee Roasted Chicken & Duck Rice Shop 新汶记烧腊鸡鸭饭店 — Restaurant in George Town

Food is just ok, nothing special. What special is the aftermath. Ask for the bill. The lady cashier ask what I drink. I told her 1 barley. And she ask me with cynical tone, one only? I said yes. I told her i had one big n 1 small rice. 2 people. She said yes. She bill me RM 59. Then i ask for my receipt. It stated 4 person meal. I ask her why billed me this whilst I told her my meal is for 2 person. She said oh, i give you back in cash. No apology, the face also indifferent. I am feeling maybe this happenned a lot? Be careful....

i've been a regular there for sometime,went there last week and the chicken chopper is a kid,i supposed is the son of the owner, when i reach there there is no customer in front of me and i'm the first customer,told the kid that i wanted 7 pack of chicken rice for takeaway,and then 1-2min later came an uncle ordering 3 after me,the kid ask if im in a rush if im not in a rush he would do it for the uncle first,i told him yes im in a rush,but in the end still do for the uncle,why bother to ask if you're still going to do for...

Had just finished breakfast at the popular corner kopitiam just up ahead, and was just passing by Shin Boon Kee, and their bbq meat smelled so good.

Was tempted by the aroma, so had packed some charsiew and siewyoke to try. It was very good 👍 especially the charsiew - caramelised and nicely charred (not burnt). Not disappointed at all.

Will be back for more, when I visit...
