2019 MY BEAUTIFUL COFFEE EXPERIENCES. Starbucks coffee is from the US and yet I had never once experienced walking in a Starbucks store where no one spoke except for the manager. I was first surprised then quite delighted. Since then, every time I wanted a coffee, I came here just to enjoy seeing these nice young people working silently. And I realized that nothing was ‘handicapped’ about them. As we all know, Starbucks coffee tastes the same wherever we are in the world but this special store on Burma Road (close to the Bangkok lane) added a gentle delight to my cup. I hope this store continue the same hiring practice and the good tourists from all over the world can make a visit to this store.
Furthermore, a few days later, after reserving a Grab ride to town, I saw a note asking me to sit in front with the driver because he could not speak and would understand me better reading my lips! A smiling older man greeted me and I sat in front with him. What a nice ride I got.

Although the young ladies serving us could not speak, with their smile and gentle demeanor we had no problem communicating.

He lingered a bit too long trying to figure out the change so the open cash register sounded the alarm bips. 30 sc..1 min...We just waited. Bip...bip...Finally he came up with the correct change and closed the machine. I noticed that there was no upset manager, no frustrated coworkers. Seeing so much support and respect for persons with physical and mental challenges, my hat is off to Starbucks.

As a habit (local and overseas), I used Starbuck (if not the library) as my go to place if I need to work on my computer and I find this is the best place for long hours stay. Plenty of seats, not overcrowded and since no music being blasted, people tend to speak in lower tone including their mobiles. The bathrooms are well maintained and clean - a must criteria for lepak-ers like myself. The staff here also do not care if you stayed for 5 minutes or 5 hours. I've never used the wifi so I don't know how good it is or if it is even functioning. There are charging plugs nearby in most of the tables. Also a room for smokers and vapers alike. Excellent place...
