We visited this semi-airconditional food court on 5 different occasions to try all its popular food. Order and payment at individual stall and just tell the cashier table number. Some stalls did require self collect. Serving within 16 minutes upon ordering.
Nyonya food was indeed the mixed rice stall at premium price. Curry was tasty, and curry chicken was slightly above average. RM29 for my order. 3 stars
Doubled boiled soup was mediocre. Fried chicken taiwan night market style (mediocre) and 3 cup chicken also from the same stall. Do avoid the 3 cup chicken, which tasted very weird. 1 star
Fried joay teow was outstanding. Wok hei and duck egg was fried perfectly. 5 stars
Grilled chicken with mushroom sauce was delicious. Tender and soft. The mushroom soup was a mixture of 6 types of mushrooms and very creamy. 4 stars. Lamb shoulder from the same stall was outstanding. The fat portion was so flavourful, and the meat portion was tender and soft. The sauce mixed very well with the lamb. 5 stars
Flat roasted chicken wonton mee was terrible. It was very rare that I couldn't finish the whole portion. The chicken was sweetened, and no sign of roasted. The wonton mee sauce was terrible and only tasted sweet. RM13.99 was overpriced. 1 star
Fried rice with pork rib king was below par. It was not a pork rib, or it didn't taste like a fresh and juicy pork rib. The fried rice was without wok hei. It was only hot and taste of flame but not wok hei. RM10. The quality didn't reflect the dign board of fried rice KING. 1 star
Grilled stingray was overpriced. The cashier told me that their grilled fish was with no vegetables and asked me to order vegetables separately. Although I noticed a lot of customers order was grilled fish with vegetables but I didn't argue after the waiter confirming 3 times. At the end of the story, he delivered 1 grilled fish and 1 plate of vegetables at RM89. Taste wise, it was too dry and lacked juiciness. 1 star
Kuay chap was delicious. The soup base was flavourful and similar to sarawak style. Ingredients were generous. 4 stars
Nyonya laksa was slightly above average. Creamy and lemak. 3 stars
The fried fish rice set was mediocre. The fish was fresh, and sambal was mediocre. 2 stars
In conclusion, coming here for a comfortable environment and not for taste quality as standard of most stalls were only mediocre and many...
Read moreFree ample carpark space, there’s a drop off area at entrance and exit in case raining. A lot variety choices, few stall has closed and shifted so the end side hawker stall no longer opened. Here’s what I’ve tried so far :
Claypot Yee Mee Soup ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Average taste, decent portion. The stall also sells laksa which I haven’t try yet.
Fried Seafood Tom Yam Maggie ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Not bad but the overall a bit sweet rather than spicy sour of Tom Yam from the Thai food stall.
Soup Rice Set ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Delicious well boiled soup especially Old Cucumber Soup were nice.
Ipoh Kai Si Hor Fun ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Generous soup were given, the shrimp were springy and the chicken meat weren’t hard at all and quite a lot.
Mee Jawa ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Gravy a bit on the thin side but it is still flavorful and full of ingredients. Good portion. Worth to try.
Mee Goreng ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Portion just nice, well seasoned and balanced. Not enough wok hei or smoky flavour of goreng but still nice.
Mee Udang ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thick aromatic tomato shrimp gravy with fresh shrimp. Worth to try!
Nyonya Rice ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Quite pricey but the taste still alright overall. I personally loved...
Read moreAtmosphere - Other than the restaurant, the place especially beyond the car park is still a work in progress. It is great that parking is free when we visited. However, we were rather taken aback that there wasn't any other diners when we arrived. It was lunch hour still.
Service - One of the servers suggested that we sit in the AC enclosure which is located in the middle of the open concept building. We indicated our appreciation with a smile for the thoughtful suggestion.
Food - I ordered lamb chops and hubby ordered nasi lemak with curry chicken. The curry tasted OK but the colour was dark brown which is very unusual for Malaysian curry chicken. Rating 6/10. My lamb chops on the other hand was very disappointing, unfortunately. The 3 pieces of lamb had lots of fats and only 50% meat. The saving grace was that the meat wasn't gamey but they weren't exactly chewable either. The fries were extremely salty too. Rating 3/10.
Note: No pics were taken as we had to hurry to an appointment. Moreover, the food took some...
