I recently tried this Chinese fried shop JDLSD Seafood and was genuinely impressed! The prices are very affordable, which makes it a great option for casual meals without breaking the bank. Even better, the portions are big—perfect for sharing or if you’re really hungry.
The food was delicious across the board. Everything was freshly cooked, with that satisfying crispy texture you want from a good fried dish. The seasoning was just right, not too salty or oily, and the flavors really stood out.
One of the highlights was the Indonesian prawn—juicy and flavorful with a nice spicy kick. We also had the sweet and sour chicken, which had a perfect balance of tangy and sweet, with tender chicken pieces coated in a light batter. The bean curd pot was another standout—warm, comforting, and packed with veggies and tofu in a rich, savory sauce.
Overall, I was really happy with both the quality and quantity of the food. It’s not easy to find a place that delivers on taste, portion, and price, but this shop hits all three. I’ll definitely be coming back to try more from the menu. Highly recommended if you're craving something crispy, hearty,...
Read moreThis is a burden seafood restaurant in the Jelutong area. It is properly the only restaurant in the Jalan Hijau. It has been operated for over 30 years and is a very popular restaurant in this neighbourhood. It is an open air restaurant (大排擋)but it is not hot on the day.
The curry prawns and Red Snapper are okay. The baby Razor clams are not fresh and are not properly cleaned. The guts of the clams (with sands and dirts) are not removed. They are also slightly over-cooked so it is a bit tough.
The Belacan chicken is a bit dry. Maybe, the chicken wings are already cooked once and re-fired before serving. The claypot Beancurd tasted good. The signature Ice Dip Sweet & Sour Pork is okay only. The fried Kangkung is the best...

One of their signature dishes is curry fish ala "nyonya" styled curry in claypot with your own choice of fish eg red snapper, stingray, just to give you some idea. Belacan chicken is a winner for starter. Fried squid is a crowd favourite. Assorted vegetables identified by their hokkien name. Butter prawns and clams cooked with curry powder and curry leafs is another option. All in all, food is tasty and satisfyingly good. No tourists and will be easier if you have a local friend who can help with the...
