Take away ordered completed but never inform customer. The other customers that arrived later than me already got their order and left. I waited for almost 30mins. Then, I saw thereās an order at the table in front of the entrance and nobody went to collect, so I thought itās for Grab driver because there are multiple Grab rider waiting outside. Then I went to check the receipt attached and found out that it was the same as mine. I already waited for quite sometime before until fed up then went to ask the Chinese staff whether my order on the table was completed (thereās only one item on the list was crossed out and the other was not). So it is safe to assume that the order was not completed yet right? If the order is already completed, all the items should be cross out what. He then proceed to tell me that the order already completed for quite some time and was left at the table in front of the entrance. I was dumbfounded because they didnāt inform me that my order was done and I was waiting there for no reason at all. Besides, that Chinese staff and a Malay staff was the ones who took my order, so canāt really say that he didnāt recognise or forgot that Iām still sitting there waiting when Iām one of the few that was left in the shop. Really disappointed to receive this kind of service. Overall food is decent but chicken was over fried and hard...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely horrendous. This is by far the worst Korean fried chicken I have ever tasted in all my years of living. What a disgrace. It does not even taste or look like Korean fried chicken. I have tried Korean fried chicken in several countries - congratulations, yours definitely took the cake in being the most disgusting soggy mess I had to suffer through.
There were no pickles (daikon) included with the order, and the chicken itself was tasteless and disappointing. The portion was also pitifully small - I've eaten in Korea, Australia, Singapore and the States and all portions were around the same whereas Kyochon 1991 @ Arena Curve looked like leftovers had been thrown together in a rush.
The marinade for the chicken was also a disappointment. I ordered a whole chicken from the mixed series - soy garlic and red pepper. The marinade for both were inexcusably bad - we could barely finish 10 out of 26 pieces and even then, we were struggling to get through it. The chicken somehow managed to be both dry and soggy at the same time - what an achievement.
This was a supreme waste of money. Do not waste your money or time frequenting this place. I'm out 60 ringgit I will never be getting back and I suffered through the worst dinner I have ever had.
You would be better off buying chicken from the nasi kandar shops in Penang - both a cheaper and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreit is a very small Kyochon joint. Food were great and freshly made, but the service were quite slow even when not many customers around. The staffs were chit-chatting loudly, knowing that the store were pretty small and we could hear everything they say. Maybe they can tone down when there were customers around. Koreans tea drink are not available in this joint. Also side dishes like banchan and soup is also not available to be bought seperately. It only come in their set and we couldnt buy extra soup seperately. But we were glad to see the Kyochon ambassador standee at the store. At least the company provide one. With all the hype of the ambassador in Korea and KL joints, other outlet should be cateree and treated equally. Especially when Penang only have TWO stores, not much to handle compared to KL. I saw the tote bag merchandise in Kyochon in IG website, however we are not offered any in this store. Perhaps it is not a selected store, but why? In Penang you only have 2 frikin stores only. 2 stores are not that hard to manage...
