Visited Little Hanoi on Jalan Perak and had a mixed but overall pleasant experience. As expected, street parking is quite limited in this busy area, and the café only has 2–3 reserved parking lots for customers, so do plan ahead if you’re driving.
The menu offers a variety of Vietnamese dishes, though I found the prices slightly on the higher side. Since it was my first visit, I went for a set meal to sample more items. The food tasted authentic, but the preparation time was a little long, especially considering there were no other customers at the time.
The interior carries some Vietnamese-themed decorations, but the atmosphere felt a bit cluttered due to boxes and grocery items on display. That said, it’s understandable as they also run a mini grocery section selling Viet-based products, and their online shop is available on Shopee. I bought some local snacks (coconut biscuits). I was assisted by two young waiters who were incredibly helpful and patient—especially when I asked to check other flavours of the snacks. They made a genuine effort to provide good service but they can do it better if being well trained.
Overall, Little Hanoi offers an authentic Vietnamese dining and shopping experience, with room for improvement in organisation and food prep speed—but the friendly staff and variety of offerings make it...
Read moreI've been here 4-5 times,, we always came for delicious bun. However, the experience I had here last night makes me NEVER want to go back there again! Every single time we went, the wait was at least half an hour just for drinks and at least 45 minutes for food.
I had the worst experience at this restaurant last night, when I went with my granddad. Even with reservations the place was full and we were told to go upstairs . While helping my granddad up the stairs, the waiter pushed us to the side and ran up. I understand the place is busy and understaffed. However, there should be a certain standard of respect!
Once seated, the menu was not brought to us, till I asked for it and even then it took a while so I went to collect it from other tables myself.
Soon after ordering, something must have burned (I've never seen the BBQ done on the second floor except yesterday) in the kitchen upstairs as the floor was soon filled with burnt-smelling smoke. All of us started coughing, and few of us at my table could not stop coughing. The waitress finally opened the windows for ventilation, but it was too late. There was no way the smoke would have cleared soon enough.
We decided to leave the restaurant due to the extremely bad service, and...
Read moreEnvironment and food is good. Service is superb. Informed them that 1 of the noodle dish is a bit too saltish and they immediately gave a bowl of soup. Lovely! This is my first time there and there will be more times moving forward. If you have not tried, go and try. However the next day, 2 of us have loose stool. Not sure is it due to the spices that we are not used to
Today, 30/07/20, I was there again at 345pm. Both carparks are empty and I parked at little Hanoi and was planning to go parks kitchen then go to little Hanoi. But the moment I walked over to next door parks kitchen, the guy chased me out of the carpark. Too bad he didn't realise I am a potential customer as well. Chasing away customer like that is really bad. I now reduce the rating to 1. Improve your courtesy then you will...
