This is not a review for the Japanese Restaurant, it is for the new Economy Rice Restaurant. (if I can give 0 star, I would)
First Impressions: Initially, the restaurant seemed like a convenient alternative to our usual spot, despite slightly higher prices. The proximity to my place made it a practical choice, especially during bad weather.
The Incident: On one visit, I placed my food caddy (container) on the checkout counter, informed the cashier I’d return shortly to pay after grabbing more food, and left briefly. Upon returning, the caddy had vanished. Despite repeated inquiries, the staff denied seeing it. While I understand mistakes happen, the lack of acknowledgment or effort to resolve the issue was disappointing.
Pricing Issue: Later, on a recent visit, I was charged RM8 for a single, small piece of Dory fish fillet (approx. 3" x 1.5" x .4"), which felt excessive for the portion and quality (Dory is among the cheapest fish options). This pricing seemed inconsistent with the restaurant’s "economy rice" premise.
Conclusion: While the location is convenient, the combination of poor customer service (during the caddy incident) and questionable pricing has made me reconsider returning. A reminder to double-check portions/prices...
Read moreIt has changed from a Japanese Restaurant to a prepared cooked dishes for your pick or selection (Restaurant Tanjung Bungah). The food is good but be careful of the pricing. Even though the cashier make mistakes in calculation and have proven him wrong but he insist the cash register is already lock-in the sale. I ordered a Chicken drumstick (RM5.50), a fried Chicken Wing (RM3.50) and vegetable (RM1.50) but was charged RM4.50 becoz he thought under my vegetable was rice. So I flipped or moved around the vegetable but no rice was there then I asked why my vegetable was charged RM4.50 but he kept numb. I waited but he kept quiet and NOT to jammed up the line during lunch hour or cause a scene I paid the cashier. I'm writing this to let the owner and patron to know. So be careful with this untrained cashier as they may over charge you. My first and last meal at this shop, it is NOT the money but the business and the work ethics from this establishment.
