Wah Chai Chicken Rice (华仔烧腊鸡鸭饭) — Restaurant in George Town

Dishes we had: Roasted Chicken with flavoured rice Char Siew Crispy Roasted Pork Bitter gourd egg

The roasted chicken was slightly dry, but flavourful. Nothing special there. The chat Siew was well marinated and evenly toasted. But the seasoning was a tad too sweet. However, the gravy was savory which unfortunately clashed a little with the meat marinate.

For me, the star was the crispy roasted pork, which was not too salty, but we'll seasoned. The meat was not too fatty, and the skin was crispy.

The bittergourd egg was unique dish. The bittergourd and egg blended well together and stewed with their stock such that the egg was runny and the bittergourd smooth. The seasoning was well balanced.

All in all, a good place for a decent meal. The portion was huge, hence the price was affordable.But they could clean the floors a little more, and turn the music down more. It felt like I was eating chicken rice in...

Used to be above average here. But recent visit on Tuesday was a disaster and we will not be coming back nor recommend anyone trying. The lady at counter is not very welcoming, the attitude was kinda rude. But it’s okay we don’t come here to expect excellent customer service. However when we discovered there is a worm inside the chaiboay, then we tell the lady at the counter. She say yea that’s probably a vegetable worm with straight face without any apology or compensation. By the way, we pay to order an extra soup, and she still charge me the worm soup. went there on this afternoon lunch. ordered chicken rice as plan to dine in there and bought two for take away but when the lady owner asked where I prefer to sit time was ask why I one person also want to sit the big table instead of the small ones. I explained there have fan. And then the male boss said one person just sit small table will do.
