After past 7 years of my last visited 2F (which we had really a bad experience), this month of July 2024 I visited again to gave them a chance, TOO BAD STILL THE SAME ISSUES!
Still the same OLD AIR-COND at the left session of the dining area. No action had been taken even though many diners complaint about it. The food not cheap too and don't tell me owner being stingy until can't afford to replace the old air-conds to new air-conds despite good businesses with food prices increased. Suggest you should invest to install 4 sides facing airconds instead. I'm very truthful in giving my opinion. Please read on .....
So far food were nice and drinks were good too. I even brought along my new friend here, however the dining area was too warm during lunch hours and again old aircond is the main issue and some spots only using fans which it has no cooling effects during afternoon time.
Bad service attitude of a tall male cashier that acted ignorance after I complaint about the issues. He gave me the face like I own him money!!! After payment made with credit card, he printed out the CC receipt and kept it aside without printed out the 2nd receipt for my keeping. I still stand there waiting, however he can just ignored me and talked to other staff beside him with asking if 'there is anything else?'. I got annoyed and asked him I need the receipt. He gave me a 'long black face' and printed the receipt without saying sorry or even thank you. Please learn how to be a good customer service personnel!!!
And shout out to a lady waitress which I dunno her name (long shoulder lenght hair but little messy). She was the only one did a great job! Always with a smile on her face and not like the tall cashier guy! Despites so many comments I have given, she tried her best to calmed me down and my friend. She won't skipped but still rendered good services to us. To that 2F owner, you are lucky having her to work with you. And also to that kitchen male staff with spectacle (dunno his name too). Good serving by him, with a smile and he slowly put our food on the table. That's called table manner without rushing.
Yes, parking really a difficult one, front parking pray hard. Even behind temple also not much parking due to some of the people put reserve sign.
My suggestions: Replace the old airconds (4 sides facing) to retains your regular customers that dine in the afternoon which you know how warm that dining session is.
Train well some of your staffs with more smiles and good attitude like they owned the biz.
Food already good compare to 7yrs back. Keep up the qualities.
It is up to you to embrace all my comments as an improvements or you may just ignore all.
Thank you and...
Read moreWe came here for the first time to meet an old friend and this is not a place one can easily find since the cafe logo has been covered by the plants.
The problems here are parking space and the inaccessibility for wheelchairs and strollers. We parked quite a distance away due to all the nearby lots being taken; the back parking entrance has several high steps while the front entrance requires you to walk on the public road to reach it so both are problematic to wheelchair people and baby strollers. We had to push to stroller on the main road to enter the front so I can feel for those in the same position. Also, the maintenance is lacking and it is evident from the dry plants in the order area, dirty aquarium, and the covered cafe logo outside.
In my opinion, the cafe has a relaxing ambience and you will enjoy sitting inside for a while. But, it is not very cooling and the place does feel warm when it is full of customers. At the very least, the toilet is spacious and clean.
The service is a bit of a hit and miss. It took 15 mins for our cake to be served and the staff could not even give me a general clear answer when I asked him which cakes are very sweet. Most of our main dishes took around 20 mins to be ready.
I do enjoy the food, however. The curry katsu rice is delicious but some may find it a bit spicy. Our oreo chocolate cheesecake was not very sweet even though the waiter said it was so the staffs really need to be aware of all the food they are serving. Beverage-wise, the pineapple orange ice-blended was ordinary and definitely not to everyone’s cup of tea.
Finally, the food prices aren’t exactly cheap for the portion we were getting (it costs us over RM50 per person) so this should not be a regular place to...
Read moreOne of the long-standing coffee businesses in Penang, this establishment was originally founded in 2012 on the second floor of the shop lot in Penang Island. Due to popularity, it was then moved to the existing location and was named 2F as the original location of the café. This establishment has their own roastery and coffee academy aside opening café. The café has many options of coffee beverage to choose from and has food that can be supplemented with like burgers, spaghetti, udon noodles, bagels, waffles, western foods, rice bowl sets and desserts. The food is good, and it is served a big portion to share with. The price of the food depends on the selections. The environment is very spacious and gives an old industrial vibe whereby white and grey plaster wall mixed with old dark wooden furniture. The service however is awful. No staff are attentive to customer needs and most of the serves just hang on at the counter. The management need to revisit their academy and review their staff training as the service is not up to par. Parking is limited as you need to park dangerously as the side of the main road. There is no ramp for wheelchair users to enter the premises. Overall, I hope the establishment stick with their motto “We pour happiness” seriously especially on...
