Place: open air restaurant with ample wooden chairs as seats and sells seafood 🦞🦀 in many variety of flavours such as baked, steamed, fried and braised. Flies are an issue here as with many other restaurants. But these here are exceptionally aggressive !! Didn't like the idea that the rice (claims to be cooked in bamboo) came last among all the dishes. One of the few shops with 5 star food but 1 star pest control. I loved the food here and it's flavours but HATE THE FLIES!! It's not the fact that there are flies here, but the response of the workers here towards the problem. They say that once the sun sets, the flies come, and we've tried our best but still no change. This tells me that this restaurant will not improve anymore. Stop giving excuses, and DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT PLS!!! Can't enjoy the best of foods if I have to keep swiping for flies every few seconds.
Service: very prompt and fast in attending to our needs and getting our orders. Well done.
Food: Butter and salted egg prawns: loved their version of salted egg and butter Prawn! The richness of the salted egg sauce was very satisfying and packed with flavour. Prawns were fairly fresh. Verdict: 4.8/5.
Kangkung belacan: very fresh and at the same time flavourful. Love the tinge of salted fish taste incorporated into the dish. Verdict: 4.5/5.
Philippines BBQ fish: loved the simplicity of the fish and the sauce that accompanies it. Nice blend of sour, salty and sweet. Down side: if the fish was to be de-boned, it'll be perfect!! They need to learn from Ikan Bakar Perling shop. Verdict: 3.9/5.
Lala soup: it came in a bamboo container which gave me a first impression of "lack of soup" kinda feel. Flavour wise is better than what I'd expected. Maybe it's their way of downplaying the dish first before elevating the expectations of their customers. Fresh clams used and happy with this dish. One of the better lala soup I've tasted....
Read moreThis is my first time dining here. The overall environment is very good, especially the outdoor area is beautiful. We ordered Bangkok style and Filipino style grilled fish, then tiger prawn , lala and conch. Crab roe and crab meat XO fried rice, crab roe and crab meat omelette as well as vegetables and BBQ skewers . We are very satisfied with the evaluation of the food. There are many flavors to choose from and the presentation of the food is very special and beautiful. The seafood is very fresh, and it is displayed for customers to choose. It is not the kind of frozen seafood that is calculated by the portion. They are all weighed after cleaning the internal organs, so it's very cheap. I ordered 4 coconuts, which were very sweet and large. It just took a little longer to wait, but it's understandable because I went there at 7 o'clock and there were already a lot of customers. The point is that the food is very special and the price is very cheap, so you can see that every table of customers orders a lot of food, making the chef very busy. So just wait a little longer. But it was all worth it and I was very satisfied with the dinner. There are a lot of foods that we cannot try at once, so we will back to this restaurant again next week. I am very happy to have such a delicious seafood...
Read moreI absolutely enjoy dining at this spot – it’s a great place with a wide variety of choices, especially if you’re into seafood and flavorful fried rice combinations. Their menu is quite impressive, offering different skewer options like chicken, pork, lamb, and even deer meat for the adventurous eaters.
Here’s what we had today:
Shrimp Ball – My top pick! Each bite was packed with real prawn chunks – crispy on the outside and juicy inside. A definite must-try.
Mala Spicy Fried Rice with Chicken Skewer – Served beautifully on a bamboo plate. The portion was generous, easily enough for 2 to 3 people. The mala kick was just right, and the chicken skewer paired well with it.
Black Pepper Prawns (300g) – We got about 7 to 8 prawns in our serving. Perfectly cooked and coated with a bold black pepper sauce – finger-licking good!
Grilled Stingray – This came with sambal that was rich and full of flavor. It also included ladies' fingers (okra), and we added petai (stinky beans) as an extra – cooked just right and added a great depth to the dish.
The restaurant itself is clean and spacious, offering both indoor and outdoor seating. Plus, there’s plenty of parking available, which is always a bonus.
Highly recommended for anyone craving seafood with bold flavors and a good...
