Jordan's Char Siew Rice = RM20.90 Signature Tau Fu Fah = RM9.90 Signature Ice Bucket HK Milk Tea = RM11.90 Service Charge 10% = RM4.27
This is a Big Nicely Furnished Restaurant that is located right at the Main South Entrance of Sutera Mall. Looks quite standard in Renovation as a 茶餐厅, and I liked that they played Classic Evergreen Cantopop Tunes in the Background that I found myself humming to.
The Drink was served first after 4 Mins, and everything else were served within a total of 8 Mins. Quite Impressive Timing, considering the Noticeable Amount of Patrons at that time.
Jordan's Char Siew Rice = RM20.90
This has a Nice Savoury Appetizing Smell when it was served up. Amount of Rice is Acceptable. Comes with an Onsen Egg, a Stalk of Veggie, and Most Interestingly Crispy Pork Lard Pieces. To me, the Dish looked Visually Pleasing in Presentation. The Beautiful Char Siew Slices helped alot here tbh.
The Char Siew were Cut Thin and the Layer of Fat is Nice and Fatty and Overall Beautifully Caramelized. They look like "不见天" Meat Cut, although in this context, its probably more accurate to call this "飞机肉" because thats what Hong Kong calls this particular Meat Cut.
Taste Wise, it is Melt in Mouth Quality and ALMOST reaches KSL You Kee's God-Tier Meat Candy Char Siew but not quite. The Sauce is the Soul here as I love the Deep Caramelized Sweetish Taste. Although Amount of Meat is not alot, this is still a Nice Restaurant Standard Char Siew. However for now, KSL You Kee is still the Char Siew Winner for me.
Fried Pork Lard Pieces is a Very Welcome Addition to the Dish. This is not a Common Ingredient used in Roasted Dishes in Singapore and Malaysia but I thought it works very well here in providing a Delightful Crispy Crunch and added a Nice 猪油香味 to the Dish.
I like this plate of Char Siew Rice. This is Above Average in Quality and while its not Mindblowing, this still a Very Good Tasting Dish. That said, the Red Sambal really helped alot here and without it, I felt the Dish just lacked a certain Oomph to it. This Sambal also made me realize I prefer Singapore and Malaysian style of Roasted Meats as i'm sure Hong Kong Dishes would probably not provide any Chilli with their Dishes.
Signature Ice Bucket HK Milk Tea = RM11.90
The HK Milk Tea comes nicely presented in a Cafe-Style in an Ice Bucket and is a Small Bottle. It does have a Pleasing Rich and Creamy Taste of Tea, but I'll be honest, I felt this didn't taste very Different from the HK Milk Tea by Joy Luck Teahouse I had in Singapore.
For the Price of RM11.90 (S$3.41) they're asking for this Small Bottle, I feel this is Expensive and not really worth the Money. It really didn't taste very special. I feel you are paying more for its Instagram-Worthy Presentation tbh.
Signature Tau Fu Fah = RM9.90
HK Tau Fu Fa is Very Milky in Taste and the Consistency is Very Much Firmer and "Elastic" compared to the Usual "Tau Hway" that you are used to. Its not as Fragile and is actually quite Stretchy and what I describe as a "Doing Doing" type of Texture.
The Brown Syrup on the Side tasted like Burnt Brown Sugar and adding it gives it a more Caramelly Milky Taste that I thought felt a Tad Jelak, although that Jelakness is not that Jialat.
If you have never eaten HK Style of Tau Fu Fa, you really should come here to give this a Try. This really taste completely different texturally compared to Singapore and Malaysian Tau Hway/Tau Fu Fa.
Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
Eating at this place reminds me that I'm really a Singaporean at Heart as I realize I prefer some Heat and Spiciness for my Foods if applicable. The Total Combined Cost of RM46.97(S$13.50) feels a tad on the Higher Side even for me as a Singaporean, but I felt the Char Siew Rice and Tau Fu Fa are worth a try at least once, although I certainly would not to queue for them.

Read moreDecided to give this new restaurant a try and it was not only disappointing but regrettable. Restaurant was full with a last tall table left. We were offered and took it. It was literally the last table of the restaurant, situated at the furthest end, next to the air cooler. Pressed the button to call for service, but was faulty. Tried to get attention from service staff, hands got tired from raising it. When a service staff finally came, we were told 2 of the 3 items we wanted to order were not available. Double boiled dishes available only tentatively after 1pm, mango “sold out” and it was only 12.30pm then and they open at 10am. Sold out within 2.5hrs? took 3 different service staff to finally get our order of 2 dishes. Nothing bad about the food we got but definitely not even enough for poor service to be tolerated. We work in the F&B industry ourselves and understand the pressure cooker syndrome at meal times. However, this new restaurant is obviously not ready for service. Supervisors walking around aimlessly while we try so hard to catch his attention and didn’t get it. Service staff don’t know what’s not available on their menu. Service call button provided but not functioning at all. Tables at the far end of the restaurant totally neglected. Music was so loud a decent conversation was not even possible. It may have been a saving grace if that area is closed due to lack of service staff. At least you won’t have a totally unsatisfied customer after paying . We had wanted to walk out without even ordering but decided to give it a go as the food may compensate for the lack in service. Well, they have proven themselves otherwise. We’ll gladly take our rm43 for 2 rice dishes elsewhere. Menu and general outlook is very inviting but that is all. It almost seemed like we entered a...
Read moreRevisited again on 16aug24. The food this time round below average. Egg tart not toasted hot, lazha noodle not hot enough, crispy roast pork not crispy, char Siew not fat enough, soya bean curb no longer serve in a wooden bowl. Kinda of embarrassing as I brought my visiting friend to try.
Had to lower the overall rating for 5 star downwards due to the inconsistency in food quality. 😔
Revisited after 2mth in aug24. Still no wifi... Ordered a wanton mee and they forgot to add wanton. 😭 The 3 of us were scrutinising on the plain noodle and checking out order sheet n menu picture and we were very sure that a wanton mee should have wanton as per the pic. (See attached pic of menu and soup with no wanton that is served) The waiter checked with kitchen and verified with kitchen crew they forgotten to add wanton. They took the empty soup back and added the wanton shortly
Sigh. Service lapse, and they don't even have service recovery yet. And it ends up a public post on Google that they serve wanton mee without a wanton Really need to improve of the service quality. Have to downgrade the service rating from previous rating of 3 star to 2 star. But the staff are courteous and attentive. Its just that the sop probably still not too well set up
But again, I still have to rate this as a 5 star cos the food is just too good. The tau Hua is silky n light fragranced and really nice. The wanton from the wanton mee is good. The la zha noodle is super nice also.
Hope service become better and give us wifi soon. Will visit again.
Food is pricey but good. The char Siew can make it and there is so much more I would like to try. Can further improve on service and...
