Food ⭐⭐⭐ 👉🏼 Fish and Chips Average standard. No surprise point. Only fries as a side dish. 👉🏼 Cakes (Oreo flavor & Mango flavor) The oreo taste is not so sweet, mango is just nice for me. Overall above average. Worth to try. 👉🏼 Hot Mocha ⭐ Hot mocha means mocha serve hot. Hot means high temperature. Yet, when served is cold, will litter warm. Dark chocolate only litter, can't feel any taste of chocolate or fragrance of coffee. Disappointed.
Service ⭐ 👉🏼 For the service, it is the worst I ever visit a cafe. The first time I step into the shop, no greeting, but they do it to other customers. Second, wait for a minute only the menu serve, yet the time there is five crew there chit-chatting. Thirdly, after I wrote down the order, and waved my hand, nobody was aware and notice, chit-chatting there. After I press the table order bell, not function. Then, I walked to the counter, there was a customer is ordering at that moment, they look at me ask what I want, lol🤔 I'm waiting for someone to serve me, halo? 🫡 10% service charge shouldn't be paid with this type of attitude.
❌ PS: At 8.50 pm, there was a small kid went into the shop and had been told that they are closed. Yet, after the kids went over, they "reopened" the shop and continue to serve those customers coming after🤔 Maybe there is some issue between them, not so sure.
Range of Pricing ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 👉🏼 Normal Cafe price, is acceptable. Yet, service means everything. Don't treat customers as gods. Do treat customers...
Read moreI was running errands around the area and my friend wanted to meet me there. Took a while before I arrived so my friend already had mains and coffee. It was late afternoon after lunch so just decided to get something small and sweet. Got to know that this place is supposedly famous for its Millie Crepe and decided to get some to try. There were quite a lot of flavours to choose from which I was in quite a loss and asked for recommendations. The flavours recommended were not really to my liking so I used my gut feel and I ordered the Yam and the Musang King ones. Each slice was not very big, but decent for something after a meal. Tried the yam one first as the durian flavour would be very strong and overwhelm the yam taste. Tried it and was a little disappointed with the taste. Didn't really taste much of yam and there were red bean in between layers and then the red bean taste overpowered the yam taste, so me and my friend agreed it tasted more like a red bean millie crepe instead. On the other hand, the Musang king one I have to give it thumbs up because the flavour and taste was just on point. Close to tasting the real fruit itself and it was enjoyable. I have mentioned that the slices might be a bit small but it definitely justifies for the price. One of the cheaper places for millie crepe and if you are a fan probably this would be a place to give it a try and be spoilt for...
Read moreDropped by Maco Café @ Sutera Mall recently – here’s my take:
I used to visit their original shop back in the Sutera area, so when I saw they had relocated to Sutera Mall, I thought I’d drop by for a slice of our favourite layered cakes.
The cakes are still as flavourful and satisfying as ever, definitely their highlight. But for the cooked food, it was served on eco-friendly paper plates, and with no proper kitchen setup at this new stall, the dining experience didn’t quite match the price. Our total came up to around RM220 (after adding the 6% SST), which felt a bit steep for what we had.
Coffee was just alright, but it was served in a takeaway cup and was already a little cold when we got it, would’ve been nicer if it was served hot in a proper cup for dine-in.
It was also pretty crowded when we went, and the turnaround was quite slow. You have to find your own seats as the staff were mostly busy behind the counter, so just be prepared if you’re heading there on a weekend.
That said, I’d still recommend Maco if you’re just planning to enjoy cake and coffee with a friend. Maybe grab a proper meal first at Swee Kee Chicken Rice right next to the stall — then pop by for...
