Arriving at 11:30am, I found the café not overly crowded, perfect for a thoughtful brunch. The concept centers around steam buns and the artistry of sourdough, and the space invites you to sample the harmony of traditional bread with a modern twist. Ordered, Salad and Lamb Sausage Breakfast, recommended by the staff (I didn’t catch her name, N? my apologies to her). Salad - Fresh, bright, and well-composed. The broccoli was particularly impressive—crisp, with a nutty bite that stayed crunchy against the dressing. Lamb Sausage, a standout choice; the meat carried a gentle spice and a hearty texture that spoke to careful preparation. The sauce accompanying the salad was unique, offering a tang and depth that elevated the greens rather than overpowering them. The overall plate felt balanced: greens and a sauce that tied it all together. The sourdough bread deserves its own spotlight. It’s clear the kitchen leans into technique and patience, producing slices that are robust yet tender enough to bring harmony to the dish. The eggs (scrambled) were standard but satisfying, paired with sautéed mushrooms and onions; tomatoes added a fresh zing that kept the plate lively. The sourdough held up well—crusty on the outside, soft within, a perfect vehicle for the savory accompaniments. Early on, I was handed a small packet of Anchor butter. My initial reaction was a bit of a turn-off. I raised the concern with the serving staff and learned that the butter would cost MYR 3. When the staff relayed this and I tried to rationalize the value, it felt a touch awkward—how does a tiny packet justify the price when four sourdough pieces are included? That lady staff who likely had received feedback swung by and offered a gracious remedy: garlic butter on the house, no charge, and a sincere apology. This gesture was appreciated and demonstrated a genuine willingness to listen and make things right. It’s the kind of moment that adds warmth to the dining experience, even if the initial pricing felt a touch steep.
Price Point and Overall My verdict on the price sits at a crossroads: the combination of high-quality bread and well-executed plates leans toward a premium experience, but MYR 36 for the set felt a bit on the higher side for a breakfast plate, especially if the focus is on bread as a star element. The cappuccino (cuppochino) was nothing extraordinary—adequate, but not a standout. This café champions a steam bun concept alongside robust sourdough, and it shows in the texture, bake, and boldness of flavor across the menu. The staff’s responsive handling of the butter pricing issue left a positive aftertaste, underscoring a culture of listening and care. If you’re exploring a place where sourdough is honored and the flavors lean toward thoughtful, savory profiles, this spot is worth a try. Just be prepared for a pricier breakfast, and bring an appetite for both the bread and the gentle, well-placed gestures that make the...

Read moreTLDR: Poor hygiene, mid food and biased 5 stars Google ratings.
I don’t usually leave low ratings on Google but I felt compelled to do so after my visit here.
I would say the ambience of the cafe was not too bad, brightly lit and welcoming. However, the service was almost non-existent despite the counter seats being empty and we were seated there w/o being attended to when we had entered.
We ordered the popular brioche toast but it was mid. There was nothing special about the honey kaya which I believe is just normal supermarket honey (we saw the bottle of honey on the counter) mixed inside a watery kaya.
There was also a housefly flying around and ants spotted. Utensils were not clean too, refer to the photo of the knife I had uploaded (it’s a little unclear but there was a huge stain on it), knife was placed together in the utensils tray given to us /: The lack of hygiene was off-putting.
I had used their toilet as well and the toilet bowl seat could not even stand upright on its own and the toilet door lock was not working.
What took the cake was when we saw that there is a RM5 off offered for if you give a 5 stars rating. This would explain why the cafe has really high ratings despite all the above I had listed… Pretty sure Google doesn’t allow this.
Don’t think I...
