My family (2 adults + 2 tweens) had dim sum breakfast here at 8:30 am in Dec 2022. Food & Ordering System === There are 2 ways to get food. They complement (not replace) each other (they don't really explain the system to you): 1. Random male waiters will occasionally come to your table to offer whichever dim sum baskets are in their neck-hung wooden tray (equivalent to the wooden cart in Hong Kong's dim sum restaurants). These will be dim sum that the kitchen prepared beforehand (e.g. siew mai, har gow, chicken feet). Just take whatever you want. They'll then tick off how many you took on an order chit on the table. Average price of each basket is ~RM 6.50 (S$2). There are RM 7 and slightly higher-priced basket categories on the chit form, but you won't know what's the exact price of which item unless you ask the waiter. 2. A female waitress will also come to your table to take down specific items that will only be prepared in the kitchen and delivered to your table directly should someone order it. These include: + Xiao Long Bao (XLB) (soup-filled pork dumplings) 5pc RM 10.50 + Fried carrot cake RM 7 + Chee Cheong Fun (steamed rice flour rolls) Mixed fillings (prawn + charsiew pork) RM 7 + Wanton Mee - Note that there are no prices on the menu. You can ask for prices before ordering, but generally they're quite reasonably-priced. + Chrysanthemum teapot (unlimited self-refill from hot water dispenser) costs RM 13 + Food quality-wise, all the items were delicious. Wide variety of dishes for individuals and to-share + Interestingly, all the bamboo baskets have rubber/plastic rims, presumably to make handling safer. + Suggestion to management: put prices in your menu, and upload photos of your menu on Google Maps and Facebook. + Waiting time was short - Food was served within 10 - 15 min. + Payment - Pay at the cashier counter with your chit sheet at the end of the meal. Layout & Ambience === + Decor - This is a newly-built traditional Hong Kong-styled dim sum restaurant with a modern take. + No flies. + There are more than enough tables and chairs placed spaciously apart. + Hygiene - Clean. + Toilet - Available. Well-maintained. Location === Located at 58, Jalan Eko Botani 3/2, Taman Eko Botani, 79100 Iskandar Puteri, Johor, Malaysia where there are rows of newly-constructed white shophouses with many ground-floor restaurants. Part of the larger Eko Botani residential-cum-retail development. + Carparking - Ample free parking in front of the row of shophouses. + Only 8 minutes from Legoland. Restoran Tasixi has other branches in Johor Bahru. Take care not to key in the wrong coordinates when using GPS. Conclusion === Overall, a good morning dim sum breakfast for a reasonable price. Some of the other nearby eateries in Eko Botani also offer dim sum, but their variety seems more limited with mainly pre-cooked dim sum. A convenient place to makan before Legoland opens at 10am.

I ordered prawn dumplings and char siew buns via GRAB Food self pick-up. The char siew bun was the worst one that I've had in my lifetime. Even those not-so-well known brand which sells frozen bun also taste better than theirs I swear. The dough of the bun was basically flabby and very sticky when chewing it. The char siew fillings was mixed with alot of the starch. Simply can tell that they're cutting corners! The taste of the prawn dumplings are normal but the issue I had with them was there's human hair found inside the fillings!!! (Please refer to the photo evidence) THIS IS AN UTTERLY Disgusting YET UNHYGIENIC ENCOUNTER When I brought the food BACK to the restaurant and feedback to the manager, he offered to provide a new set of food but who the hell would've have the courage and appetite to eat their food again? I rejected him and ask for a refund instead then he said as I ordered via the GRAB food, all I can do is to feedback via the apps and wait for their reply. Fine. The attitude of the manager in dealing with the issue is not up to expectation AT ALL. I understand that TASIXI Dim Sum has been in the market for a long time yet their staff is obviously not on par with their built reputation. Generally his emotion was pretty stable yet unconcerned. Basically he just said once "Paiseh" (不好意思). No sorry, nothing at all. He's not apologetic at all for my experience with them. The restaurant manager mentioned that he will feedback this to their Central kitchen but nah, which such quality control by the Central kitchen, I swear I'm gonna place this TASIXI under the blacklist and not gonna patronise to their restaurant again. Who knows I might encounter to another prawn dumplings or siew mai with human hair inside the fillings??? I rarely leave a long yet bad Google reviews but they're really super disappointing. Good luck to the business owner.

So this is my favourite, favourite, absolute favourite dimsum shop in Johor. They open very early and are popular as a breakfast spot. Before this, I always ordered Grab for their food. But today I decided to come to find this place and dine here for real. Be warned - parking was really hard to find. I had to circle the block at least 4 times... in the end I parked really far away in an opposite block, and walked to the restaurant haha. The service was very excellent. Even if I could not speak Mandarin very well, they realised this quickly and sent a kindly man who spoke good English to come and help me. I felt so grateful for this. They don't exactly have a menu, but they bring trays of dimsum to your table for you to choose. And they explain what each item is as well. Service was 10 out of 10. They were all very friendly and welcoming even when they were quite busy and I was only by myself alone. They still took great care to make sure I had everything I needed. It was a very good experience, and it was fun choosing the dishes off the big trays from your own table. I had my usual order of xiaolongbao and danggui siumai.... both excellent and delicious. And I tried a new dish I had never seen before... fried prawns with mango. Also very fresh and delicious with generous servings of juicy prawns. I will likely continue to order Grab delivery for their food, like I always have, because parking was really difficult for me that morning. But I really cannot recommend this restaurant enough... I'd give 10 stars if I could!
