I recently had the opportunity to try Lok Lok for the first time at a coffee shop in JB Malaysia, and I must say it was a truly impressive experience. The food served was not only tasty but also exceeded my expectations. The variety of options available was delightful, and I found myself enjoying the flavors of each skewer I tried. One standout element was the chili sauce provided. It complemented the Lok Lok perfectly, adding a delightful kick of spice that enhanced the overall taste. This experience completely changed my perception of Lok Lok, as I had previously held concerns about its hygiene. The coffee shop, I visited proved my worries to be unfounded, as the food was prepared and served in a clean and hygienic manner, further enhancing my enjoyment.
Aside from the Lok Lok, the coffee shop also served a steamboat fish soup that I highly recommend. The soup itself was exceptionally delicious, with a rich and flavorful broth that left me craving for more. The fish used in the soup was undoubtedly fresh, adding a delightful taste and texture to the dish. Additionally, the inclusion of generous amounts of tofu and vegetables enhanced the overall balance and nutritional value of the soup.
Given my delightful experience, I can confidently say that I will be returning to this restaurant in the near future. The combination of delicious Lok Lok and the mouthwatering steamboat fish soup has left a lasting impression on me. I highly recommend giving it a try to anyone looking for a unique and satisfying...
Read moreTo call this seafood restaurant "lok-lok" would be completely inaccurate. The actual lok lok is outside of the stall, so don't be fooled by the store front.
We ordered stuff like crawfish and tomatoes, under the recommendation of the waiter that we had a "soup base", which we assumed was only soup, for us to cook the ingredients in. However, we found out only when the soup arrived that it already consists of various vegetables and tofu and was way too much for the four of us to finish (as we had picked other dishes as well).
The soup base's soup was salty, the "La La" soup, or clam soup, showed us that there was nothing splendid about the seafood at this restaurant. The order was wrong and we got grilled crawfish (RM $56) instead. The black pepper sauce on the crawfish is typical.
Parents with children who cannot take spicy food: do note that most of the dishes are slightly spicy, with the exception of the soup base(s) available.
Overall, there is nothing that I would recommend from this restaurant and I highly doubt that I would make a return trip here.
