Lotus Hotel — Hotel in Johor

Desaru was no longer the pristine beach I had in my memory when I was a child. I last visited Desaru 30 years ago and I rate the beach 10 points then. Now it is close to a 1 point. Its is polluted with oil, the sand is almost black with oil and I don't even dare to step into the waters. ||A seaside without a nice clean beach, we turned to other activities.||There are limited vacancies for the firefly watching trip. We missed that trip as it was full house. ||We went to the water play area which was generally ok. However, there was a dangerous spot in the water slide where each of the slide ends in a mini pool. As there were no guards there to regulate the flow of people - and we nearly drown.||There was this guy standing at the end of the water slide not daring to go into the mini-pool as he probably cannot swim. He was standing up and blocking the rest of the people coming down the slide. As me and my 6 year old daughter came down the slide in a float, we knocked his legs and he just sat on both of us. With his weight and the water current flowing, I couldn't stand up and my daughter was trapped under his body in the water as well. It's actually decent for a 2 star hotel. It was quite amusing too, the window were hot glue gunned, the bathroom door frame is off and needed extra energy to shut it, the cleanliness is meh, BUT the beds are comfortable and rooms are quite spacious (depends on what floor etc), overall it's comfortably decent for a 2 star hotel. If just want to sleep,it’s fine. Near to many eating places(cafes and restaurants) which is 1-2min walking distance. Have to bring own toiletries. Hand soap and towels provided though. Toilet door faulty, needs to exert force to open and close and loud noise when doing. No lift, have to climb up 3 floors but treat it as exercise. Overall, good if u want everybody to be in...
