Mapo Tofu & Fried Pork in Sauce
Mapo Tofu is good. I really enjoyed it. It doesn't have this weird oil taste that most mapo tofu I had tried have. It was fragrant with good amount of spice and numbness. Perfect pair with white rice. However, the fried pork, or known as 锅包肉 was disappointing, though the meat itself was good. Not that it taste bad or anything. It was good but it tasted more like fried pork in lemon sauce rather than the authentic 锅包肉 which had a balanced taste of sweet and sour (not the usual sweet and sour pork taste). We checked with the staff and they said the flavour was meant to match local taste bud. Perhaps calling it 锅包肉 isn't right since it was totally a different dish presented.

A simple QR-Code online menu would...

Be sure to order their cumin stir fried mutton, stir fried tomato with eggs (trust me, this is not your average dish), and bbq prawns (very fresh!). This is like a hidden gem in JB especially for us foreigners but your trip will be...
