Update: This Shop has ceased its operations. Actually, this Shop still exists, but the Original Owner has changed. A New Owner has taken over the place already.
港式烧卖 HK Siew Mai = RM5.90 虾饺 Shrimp Dumplings Har Gao = RM7.90 虎皮鸡脚 Tiger Skin Chicken Feet = RM5.90
No Service Charge
This place is actually a Very Big 2 Level Chinese Restaurant that even has 2 different shop lots located in the same Food Alley.
The Lady Boss is very Friendly. She took the time to explain about their Operations and even offered a Free Glass of Water when she noticed I did not order any Drinks.
This place actually focuses on Tze Char Dishes. Dim Sum is the Newest Thing thats recently implemented. Its so new, they don't even have a Menu for them. Currently, their Dim Sums are priced at either RM5.90 or RM7.90.
The thing I noticed about their Dim Sums is that they are kept pre-made in a Freezer Box. You go over, choose what you want, and they will take it out and re-heat it for you.
Keeping Pre-Made Dim Sums in a Freezer Box is a Major Critical Flaw as you will read on why. Har Gao was the 1st to be served up after 1 Min, and Everything Else was up within 6 Mins.
港式烧卖 HK Siew Mai = RM5.90
Because this is Rethawed from the Freezer Box, there is a very Obvious Rethawed Frozen Food type of Taste since it was literally taken out from the Freezer just moments ago. It has a strange "Bak Chor" texture and Porky Taste is Quite Strong. Completely not Bouncy at all.
虾饺 Shrimp Dumplings Har Gao = RM7.90
Probably one of the Worst Har Gao I've ever tasted. Skin was Thick and Dry AF. Filling was Small and also Dry. Again, this tasted like Rethawed Frozen Product. Appearance is Lifeless and even looked Plasticky.
虎皮鸡脚 Tiger Skin Chicken Feet = RM5.90
Compared to other Dim Sum styled Braised Chicken Feet I've eaten before, the Texture for this Skin actually tasted Tough and Rubbery. Sauce is not Braised and tastes Overly Sweet.
Conclusion and Closing Thoughts
I'm sorry but the Dim Sums here tasted so bad, I feel that even our Singapore Kopitiam $1.50 Dim Sum tastes even better.
The Main Issue I think is that all the Dim Sums are Pre-Made and Pre-Frozen from an External Supplier and all they did was to just Re-Heat and Re-Thaw them. This defeats the Main Purpose of a Dim Sum because True Dim Sums are supposed to be Freshly Handmade. When you freeze something only to Re-Thaw, it will completely destroy the taste of the Food.
In fact, the Dim Sums here tasted so bad, I had to discreetly pack them away and discarded them. When the Lady Boss came over asked for my Feedback, I had to fake a smile and told her "They were not bad". I couldn't bear to tell her the Cruel Truth given how nice she treated me.
If you are a Representative of this Eatery reading this, I'm sorry but I would recommend to completely remove Dim Sum from your Menu and focus on your Main Strengths instead. Re-Thawing Frozen Dim Sums is Simply Not Acceptable.
Having said that, Dim Sums were only just recently introduced so this is actually not their Main Strength. Because of how nice the Lady Boss treated me and how focused she was on Customer Service, I am willing to give this another Re-Review in the Future where I'll try out their Tze Char Set Meals instead. Hopefully it will be better.
Do watch this space for my Re-Review in the Future.
