Malaysia Chicken Rice Review: Pine Chicken Rice, ohor Bahru, Malaysia
Decent Variety, Mixed Experience
Pine Chicken Rice boasts an extensive menu offering a wide variety of options for chicken lovers. From classic roasted chicken to innovative twists on traditional dishes, there's something for everyone. However, my experience was limited to their Kampong Steam Chicken Rice for this round.
Ambience: ★★★★☆ The ambiance at Pine Chicken Rice is pleasant and inviting, with comfortable seating and a clean, modern-traditional interior. The restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a casual meal with friends or family.
Cuisine: ★★★☆☆ The Kampong Steam Chicken rice at Pine Chicken Rice was good, but it didn't quite reach the level of excellence I've experienced elsewhere. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and the rice was fragrant, but it lacked the depth of seasoning and complexity of flavors that I've come to expect from top-notch chicken rice establishments.
Service: ★★★★☆ The service at Pine Chicken Rice was friendly and attentive. The staff was quick to take orders and ensure that all needs were met throughout the meal.
Conclusion: For those seeking a reliable spot for chicken rice with a pleasant ambiance and friendly service, Pine Chicken Rice is worth a visit, but for those in search of the best of the best, there may be other establishments that deliver a more memorable culinary experience.

Thai style fried bean curd It’s infact fried toupo with meat. Not what I’m expecting. Very crispy but just not what I’m after.
2 roast chicken is very very avg if compared to SG standard. Mo big wrong but also nothing standouts.
3 white chicken is pretty tender. Nice sauce to go along. Above avg.
Rice is a bit overcook for me. Too soft. But the chicken aroma is nice. Goes very well with the chili.
5 Shanghai scallions oil noodle is crap…. Dun bother. Not saying it taste bad. But it’s just not what the name suggest. Maybe they should go try some real 上海葱油拌面
6 comes with green and red chili sauces. Both taste nice.
7 bean sprouts is fresh and crunchy. The sauce is refreshing also. Well cook.
8 fried wanton is just fried wanton haha
9 tea is…. Dun bother
10 lime juice is syrupy water…
The winner for drink is good old coke!
If U are a Singaporean I would say dun bother trying this chicken rice. Most likely will not meet your expectations. It’s just like any standard that U can get at most neighborhood kopitiam. Food wise is ok. But not fantastic.

Read moreRead the other reviews prior to visiting this place. It was around 3ish pm when I decided to bring a makan buddy along. To our disappointment, the bbq chicken wasn't available on that day. I'm a big chicken noodle fan. So we both ordered the roasted and steam chicken noodle combo. There's a strong aftertaste on the roasted chicken, probably the marinate which was unpleasant for my liking and a tad dry. The steam chicken breast was much better and moist. The noodle sauce was sweet and quite light colored. The chilli though was acceptable there was a pungent taste. The better dishes were the century egg and poached beansprout. I would revisit this restaurant next round for these two and try the porridge. The iced coffee has a very strong bitterness and charcoal flavor, I think it goes better when serve hot. Service wise it was okay for a quiet day I guess. Clean dining and ample...
