Sands Art Gallere — Attraction in Johor

Booked this two days before to come in on a Sunday to do tufting, for MYR170/pax. It’s important to book a bit earlier than the date you want to go, since the employees have to draw your chosen designs on the canvas beforehand and you have to check whether the design is suitable. We booked a 3-hour slot at 12pm, but this was a mistake (skill issue wise) because we took 5 hours instead 💀🤣. Try not to choose too complicated a design, otherwise, it gets quite tiring since the tuft gun is quite heavy, I’m pretty sure I lost enough calories. The session is actually pretty independent, and the staff was there to watch over us and guide us when we ask or when we needed it. I would like to personally commend Nisa who was super patient with us, and when she noticed that we may take longer than expected she told us about the extending fee of MYR30/hour, which we definitely needed. We also told her about how we wanted to collect our rugs on the day itself rather than the 2-week wait collection, so she helped us patiently with gluing, trimming etc and was super nice through the whole process. One of the most affordable tufting place in JB, went with two other friends and we had a private corner to ourselves to tuft our masterpieces! The studio is on a second floor and is a very cosy space to do art jam and tufting. The place looks much bigger in real life than in pictures! The place is convenient and near KSL. a bit hard to find along the shop house but look for a white door!!!

They also had a cute little doggie that roams around. Wide range of colors for tufting. They gave us flexibility of time to complete our rugs even tho we exited our 3hours slot and couldn't finish in time but fortunately we were allowed to stay. They allowed us to stay all the way to do the glueing/backing as well! Had our rugs delivered back to SG and very conveniently picked up near my place!

It was a positive experience from the start to the end of this workshop! The owners communicated clearly what to expect and got us to send the designs 2 days before the workshop. We were also advised on whether the design can be tufted and expectation on the difficulty of it.

It was a short 10- 15mins Grab ride to the studio from customs. The studio is right opposite KSL mall.

The space was awesome.. love the variety of plants outside the studio. It was homely and warm. We were lucky to have the whole room to ourselves as we were a noisy bunch!

The instructions for tufting were clear and easy to follow and Sam and his pet were there to guide us if we had challenges! The whole process was seamless and we had a wonderful time there!
