Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (1982) — Attraction in Johor

The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is a church located in Taman Sri Tebrau, Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia. The Cathedral itself is also situated in the heart of the most densely populated area in Johor Bahru, surrounded by housing estates such as Melodies Garden, Taman Sri Tebrau, Taman Pelangi, Century Garden, Taman Sentosa, Kebun Teh and Majidee Park.

It was completed in 1982, officially dedicated on 19 February by Bishop Emeritus James Chan, in the presence of the then-Apostolic Delegate Archbishop Renato Martino (now Cardinal) and all the Bishops of the Conference of Bishops for Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei.

At present, it has a seating capacity for approximately 700 parishioners per Mass compared to an estimated figure of 3500 parishioners attending the Cathedral. Very disappointed with this catechism teacher name MariaClara Annabella Tabo Nair who keep questioning and accusing me said I asked my son to received holy Eucharist when I wasn't with them during the Mass,the way she messaged me no manners she should be the one need to learn more about good manners.she won't admit her mistake keep telling and questioning me why u asked your son to received the holy Eucharist?when I wasn't with them during the Mass.keep telling me parents should know,yea I know receiving a holy Eucharist is a sin but what I told her I wasn't there and I don't know but still telling me and arguing with me that I'm the one asked my son.this is you call catechism teacher accusing parents without the proof and doesn't know how to message with manners.she thinking she own the church and need to beg her to say sorry she won't admit her mistake so I removed my kids from her class.she need to...

Lovely church situated in  Taman Sri Tebrau  Johor Bahru. It's also the Roman Catholic Cathedral - the Mother Church of the Johor_Melaka diocese. It's also the church where the Bishop's chair has been installed.  The church was completed in 1982.

Parking can be a problem,  get here early if you are attending a service.

Public parking is available though hard to secure public parking during peak hours.

The church is air-conditioned and can get rather cold.  So it's ideal to bring along something like a jacket to keep you warm.
