I ordered the Buta Miso + tamago and I looooved the fact that they have stir fried pork as I’m not a big fan of the chashu. The soup was littered with sesame seeds, bean sprouts and the onions made the soup sweet and interesting. There were whole pieces of garlic for you to crush and add to your soup to your liking!! Really enjoyed that along with the wide array of complimentary condiments available to add on or even paying for fried onion/garlics/other ingredients. The noodles were average but the soup was definitely a standout to me.
BF ordered the Kakuni Bankara + tamago and he enjoyed the pork belly even though he said there was a bit too much fatty meat, it was all very tender. The soup was nice and savoury and he polished it all off.
We got freshly squeezed orange juice and umeshu highball as drinks and were too full for the sides even though there were a few things we had our eye on.
Overall, great food, will definitely come back to try other dishes but probably will order one ramen and share it amongst two so I’ll have more appetite to try the sides! Prices are definitely a little steep for a Malaysian restaurant, definitely akin to a Singapore priced restaurant but no complaints from me as I find it value for money (as a...
Read moreWe weren't hungry so we decided to go for ramen for dinner. This place serves a range of ramen that suits us, from miso, to tonkotsu, to tsukemen.
We ordered a miso ramen, 2 tonkotsu chasu ramen, and one tsukemen.
Our friends had the tsukemen and miso ramen and they were quite impressed. The broth for the tsukemen was thick but had some lime addition to make sure it wasn't overly oily, and the dry noodles were actually served on a cold plate. Our friends also said the miso ramen was one of the best they've had.
As for the tonkotsu we ordered, the broth was thick and fragrant. You could tell the broth was really cooked for a long time by the intensity of the taste. The serving size of noodles were pretty big, and we could hardly finish our noodles. The chasu was almost perfect, tender and soft, while not too fatty.
The egg that we added on was perfect, with the yolk still half watery.
The gyoza was good but not fantastic. The size of the gyoza was quite small as well, and while it is juicy inside, it was missing the crispy Base.
The staff was really helpful and detailed. We asked for the noodles to be cooked softer and it was just right.
Will definitely come again for the...
Read moreOur experience at this restaurant was disappointing. The waiter was rude and wouldn't let us choose our table, insisting we move from a table we had already settled at stating reason that cleaned, which is ridiculous. This set a negative tone for our experience as we felt unwelcome especially when there were only two people dining there. Throughout our time there, we noticed the staff staring at us as they began cleaning up around us, which made us uncomfortable.
If the restaurant was close to closing, we wish they had communicated that to us before seating us. It would have been more considerate to let us know they were about to close rather than allowing us to sit down and then rushing us. To make matters worse we noticed they seated new customers at the table they had refused us, which left us feeling discriminated against, especially as we observed these new customers were Chinese and we are Indians.
We felt unfairly treated and unwelcome, and the insinuation of discrimination based on our race was deeply upsetting. I wouldn't recommend anyone to dine here due to their terrible service, which would ruin your experience. As per the food it was average...
