The interior was interesting, and the rice in my Nasi Lemak was very fragrant. However, the keropok was extremely soft and not crispy at all. It was shocking that the restaurant considered it acceptable to serve such soft keropoks. This makes me think that the kitchenâs quality control has significant room for improvement. The polo bun and curry chicken were also very underwhelming. We could instantly think of other breakfast places with much better polo buns.
When the waiter served our food, they didnât check which table ordered what and randomly placed other peopleâs dish on our table before moving to another table.
The weirdest experience we had at this restaurant was our interactions with the waiter. When we requested an empty plate, their response was filled with confusionâextremely puzzled. Since the waiter looked like a local Chinese guy and we spoke Mandarin, i donât understand where the language barrier is. When we mentioned that the keropok wasnât crispy, the waiterâs reaction was equally strange: they appeared puzzled and dazed, as though they couldnât understand what we were saying.
That said, they did provide us with a replacement keropok that was crispy. We had two soft keropoks and only one replacement keropok was given to us. Again, there was no mention of the issue or any acknowledgment of the replacement. Typically, a restaurant would apologize, acknowledge the complaint, and then offer a replacement. Here, the replacement keropok was handed to us quietly, without a single word. The whole experience was very strange.
We certainly donât plan on...
Read moreThe cafe setting is definitely a winner. It is cozy and in a certain way, unique because of the interior decorations. But most important, is you felt comfortable having the meal, especially sitting close to the full glass window. However, in the food department I would say, might need to come back again to try other dishes as the one we ordered in my opinion, doesn't feel palatable. The nasi lemak fried chicken meat, despite being well presented but the taste is just, meh. I can't feel the nice aroma of the nasi lemak rice and the chicken meats. Melaka Nyonya Mee siam w/ Melaka Nyonya Rendang Chicken is even more disappointing . We thought we ordered the wrong meal as the gravy of the rendang chicken is very diluted and watery to the extent seemingly looks more like curry chicken and to make the meal even more unfulfilling is how skimpy the meat portion served. The milk tea is well balanced, foamy, creamy and rich in flavour. Well, the 1st impression on the food isn't so satisfying hence we shall come back and try again since the environment...
