We stopped by here quite by accident, as we were looking for a quick bite to eat, and this location was clearly visable as we drove ny. The nipah roofing immediately caught my attention, and my wife also highlighted that the restaurant was heavily patronized, indicating the food must be excellent. Well, they serve nasi kukus on a piece of banana leaf, but you could add other dishes on top. I decided to try it with grilled lamb + black pepper sauce, and a piece of honey chicken, while my wife had hers with a simple spiced fried chicken. Both of us ordered the honey iced tea, which was served in a tall glass, with the foamy tea overflowing the brim, for a more dramatic effect. Unfortunately, we were seated quite close to the grilling area, and after sometime the smoke from the grill began to overpower us..Ideally, they should have made this area totally separated from the dinning area, but looking at the number of patrons, I guess they had ran out of space...The best part is, the price is very affordable, and they take cashless payment by using T&G e-wallet, and other payment portal as well..I would definitely recommend the place to others, but...stay away from...
Read more1st time here to have the nasi kukus. I guess this is the signature meal based on the restaurant name.
I had nasi kukus + fried chicken drumstick part + kari kaki ayam.
The meal is really delicious especially the drum stick & kaki ayam. Really welldone or enoughly cooked eventhough the meat part is very thick while the kaki ayam is really soft and mouth friendly. The stim rice served on banana leaf so you can expecting the aroma.
The best if you can wait for a while before eat it as you can enjoy the meal when 'freshly hot' stim rice become warm instead of having it hotly.
