The buffet is really insulting to those who patrons the restaurant - all the food is prepared and portioned as if you're a freeloading distant relative, coming to shamelessly eat at their house for free, forcing them to prepare everything by cutting corners. Yes, buffet is only RM50-60, but unless you eat grilled lamb, you won't even get half of your money worth. There's no decent protein inside any type of pasta they serves; it's all cheap sausage slices and diced up ham slices. Not even minced meat they are willing to serve us in these. There's also no actual flesh meat inside the mee kari broth; it's just halved, tiny fishballs instead of other actual protein. They also cheap out on the fish used in asam pedas; they use small fish with plenty of bones, the kind people either use to blend for laksa or fry since it's so small you can eat it whole. Cold beverages is also a sore point; either cold plain water, or plain water with slices of lemon, or cheap cordial. Hot beverage also have only one, but I'm not complaining about that. And the glass served is also so small, only around 100-150ml. Is it that hard to let your paying, fasting customers quenched their thirst properly without forcing them to queue again and again for refills when all you're willing to serve is only cheap cordial? There's no need to create choke point for mere cordial water, please don't insult us like that. Desserts are also bitesized, which is fine if they refilled frequently. They don't. No cold desserts either, such as icecream, cendol etc to whet your appetite (since as mentioned before, other food selection is not exciting even if you come there hungry after a whole day of fasting). The Malay food section is tolerable, but definitely not even worth half the price paid. If the service is good, maybe I won't feel as slighted but really, even the way they topup the fruit tells you they are buying time so that people can maybe eat less 🤣 You left the restaurant feeling, aku menyusahkan tuan rumah ke? Tuan rumah macam tak ada makanan sangat nak dihidang, tapi terpaksa juga jamu tekak aku ni walaupun tak seberapa. Until you remembered you actually paid RM60 just to be treated...
Read moreHaving family lunch here during merdeka day with 10 pax. We had merdeka combo suit for 3 pax contains of chicken grills + strawberry mint lemon drinks. Its worth it with only RM 60 if not mistaken. The chicken grill is juicy & taste so good. The drinks as well. Fully satisfy. All pasta we ordered - aglio olio lamb grill, meat ball pasta, carbonara n the other one was good too. Lamb shoulder & lamb grill 👍 mushroom soup & garlic bread 👍 belgian waffle 👍 chicken finger 👍 mashed potato * the gravy taste a bit wierd - they said it was a brown sauce but to us the taste is quite diff and this is the only food that we cannot finish it. May be its not suit with our tastebud.
But overall it was good and nice place to have a meal...
Read moreExcellent service. The owner gave us a plate of sago gula melaka FOC, as an apologizing gesture to us - because one of our grilled chicken (we ordered two) was undercooked. This small but kind gesture is rare nowadays. That tells you all you need to know about their service: friendly and welcoming. Food is delicious and well-plated with suitable portions. Although I would prefer the drinks and beverages to be in a slightly bigger glasses (or at least having size options). Many patrons also celebrated birthdays while we were there - this place’s cozy surroundings and family-like atmosphere is perfect for a nice family makan-makan. This was our 5th visit and again, Cloves comes Highly...
