Have you tried claypot beef stew inside an art gallery and workshop? Well, at Sri Petaling, you can find such a dining place. A good friend in KL brought me there to check out this restaurant that doubles up as an art workshop and gallery.
Located at level two of a shophouse at Sri Petaling, the place exudes a very welcoming feeling the moment I stepped in. There is a cute cartoon character and lots of painted artwork on display. I assume they were painted inside the workshop that shares the unit with the restaurant. The boss is very friendly too.
Ordered a beef combo that came with beef briskets, tendon, honeycomb tripe, and other innards. It arrived in a heated claypot that kept the beef piping hot portions and the broth bubbling for a while. Love the thick rich broth and the tender beef parts.
The boss shared that the cooking is kind of Taiwanese origin but adapted to local styles.
Quite a comfortable place to enjoy a hot pot of beef stew. I would recommend...
Read moreFinding parking in this area is totally nightmare... The shop has nice deco and setup making me so comfort sitting inside. Ordered the famous braised beef with Ramen and the food was served fast due to no customer. I was the only customer during this lunch hour time. The braised beef with Ramen is really nice, favour and tasty. However, I will ask them not to topping the sour vegetables which mixed with chili padi then caused the broth overwhelmed with spiciness. The beef meat is really render and also big portion. However, the honey comb tripe just too hard to bite/chew for my favorite. I asked for adding soup and the girl at counter was friendly to add for me without hesitation. Price wise damage RM32.80 for the bowl of the soup which is at a bit higher side. I will return to this shop again to...
Read morePlace: exceedingly lovely, surrounded by arts works, paintings and pictures. Food: utterly tasty. I got a Dayeh golden lamb stew (including spare ribs and brisket). The ribs are superb and so tender. But the brisket is relatively chewy, be mindful. The rice is covered with pickled mustard, please try to add on some chili oil, u wont regret. It costed me an extra bowl of rice for that. Service & cutery: nice but could be upgraded. The given spoon is more suitable for noodle eating, not rice (told to owner & hope to see a change on the next visit). Comely staff & owner, fastly fulfill requests. Price: 40RM for a big pot on fire, 2 bowls of rice and a glass of cold plained water. Just say worth a try, and worth a re-visit for...
