I very rarely leave a one - star review. Congratulations, Go Go Steamboat! You are the second one.
They gave me a super April Fool's experience. It was supposed to be a double celebration - my wife's birthday and my mom's birthday. I brought both my wife and my mother for a birthday celebration at this Go Go Steamboat. My sister Eve Liang helped me book the "Winter Melon Room" one week earlier, and they told me it was available. I was extremely excited to bring my mom and wife for their birthday celebration on April 1st.
On the booking date, I arrived at Go Go Steamboat on time. Now, the best part of this super April Fool's experience begins. When I arrived, I told the receptionist that my booking was under the name Eve Liang. Then she took me to a dining table in the public area. I was shocked when I saw that the table was very small and located in the public area.
At that time, I told the receptionist that my booking was for the "Winter Melon Room", not an open - area table. The receptionist told me that my booking was not for the "Winter Melon Room" but for an open - area table, and the "Winter Melon Room" had already been unavailable for a few days. I was very angry when I heard that. I asked her to check the WhatsApp chat again.
After checking the chat on WhatsApp, the second April Fool's part started. She said to me, "Oh, yes, correct. Your booking was for the 'Winter Melon Room', but now it's not available." Isn't that funny? I booked it one week earlier, and they told me it was available. Then on the visiting date, they told me it wasn't. I suspect they might have squeezed me out for their special customers and then forced me to take the public area table.
It ruined both my wife's and my mom's birthday celebrations. There was no good experience with the atmosphere, and quite a lot of food was not available. The only good part was that the soup was really nice.
Conclusion: I'm very disappointed. I will not recommend it to my friends and I will never...

It's not like one of the major chain hotpot places you frequent. It caters to a specific audience but that's not a bad thing, just an observation.
The place is relatively sizable, I went there on a Saturday without reservation and got a table immediately.
There's live music, but again you've probably been to a place like this. Music is subjective but you know what you're in for when the singer inevitably mumbles into the mic and starts playing a host of Mando Pop songs. Again, not a bad thing if you're into that sorta stuff.
The food was okay, nothing overly exciting, some novelty/signature soups like the coconut and winter melon were okay, but again not a must try.
As do most a/c hotpot places these days, sauces are chargeable per pax, free flow of deserts (which were an assortment of jellies and your basic 糖水)
What was surprising was their lush packs of mushrooms that they offer, certainly interesting to look at but depends if you're keen on wolfing down a literal bunch of wild mushrooms.
No free flow drinks unfortunately with the meal. So account for that.
Side orders of dishes were okay-ish. Nothing you've never seen before if you've been to a hotpot place in the last 10 years.
Overall, a decent meal, nothing to complain about but also nothing that would entice me to keep...
Read moreWe are finally here again with the fam-bam after GoGo 4 months of renovation and we missed the steamboat here.
Grand entrance now with 2 private rooms and big lcd tv to show on the food and promotions to date. Now they have homegrown vegetable for RM 20.00 and home grown mushroom for RM 30.00
Food and service are top notch as always and the seatings are really comfortable. Sauces now are chargeable RM 6.00 for non-member which included sauces, desserts and unlimited homemade fruit lollipop ( our childhood ice lollipop).
From our taste bud, the wintermelon soup taste kind of mellow down unlike previously, distinctive sweetness from the wintermelon. Now you can opt for 2pot flavors to 3pot flavors and we had the wintermelon with coconut and mala hotpot. Mala was fragrant but not spicy which we liked it as it has sweetness from the base soup of pork broth.
Homemade balls are a most order and our total bill for 2 adults 1 kid came total bill of RM 205.80.
Money was well spent on good food. Service are prompt and friendly as well. The toilet now are equipped with automatic Japanese style bidet. Definitely revisit again as GoGo steamboat are our family Top 2 steamboat...
